This week we’re giving away a totally customized painting from a special group of artists. Wanna meet ’em? Allow us to introduce Blitz, Minnow, and Boomer: the artists in residence at Painting Pony. Yes, I said artists.
If the paintbrushes in their mouths weren’t proof enough that these Chincoteague Ponies know their way around a canvas (I know, I was a bit skeptical at first too), just check out the colorful artwork they create with the help of their trainer Kyley DiLuigi.
Not only do they create one-of-a-kind pieces (with a unique backstory, no less) they also let you add some input about the painting before it’s made, so it’s sure to complement your home. You get to pick the background color and up to four paint colors to be used AND you get to choose which four-legged artist creates it. Kyley also throws in a CD with photos and/or video of it being whipped up.
If you wanna see these artsy horses in action there’s a video of the painting process (as well as other tricks) on the Painting Pony website. Oh, and be sure to check out their rockstar Dachshund sidekick Ammo. Burger so wants to meet him someday.
Now on to the details for the prize (and stay tuned for another special offer on Thursday):
- PRIZE: A custom 16″ x 20″ canvas by Painting Pony as described in this Etsy listing.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PONY UP” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …since this week’s prize is all about ponies with amazing tricks up their sleeves, why not tell us about another animal trickster you’ve been wowed by (whether its a skateboarding dog you spotted on YouTube or maybe even some amazing feat your own pet pulled off).
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 15th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

Erin says
Pony Up! The Lab in our family, Rufus, was a pro at saying his own name. All you had to do was ask, “What’s your name Rufus?” and he would quickly reply with “Ruf!”

Oh my goodness this is absolutely amazing! I want one so incredibly bad. I have always had horses, but not artistic ones! It’s challenging enough to teach my dog tricks, but let alone teach a horse how to paint? Absolutely incredible.
Sarah says
PONY UP! Here in Oklahoma you are either a “Sooner” or a “Cowboy”. If you ask my cousins dog “would you rather be a Sooner or be a dead dog” he rolls on his back with all fours in the air!! Not to mention hes a 85lb yellow lab!!

Melissa Armer says
Pony Up! I was painting a table when my cats were still kittens and one of them decided to jump up onto the wet paint and slide all the way across the table and continue to run around my apartment leaving pink paw prints all over the carpet! It would have made some great art if it were on a canvas…versus the carpet.

This is great! My dog Agnes can do some pretty good tricks – sit, lay down, sit pretty, shake, high five, roll over, and the newest one play dead. Maybe we’ll try painting next…ha

My dog will not eat, drink or fetch his ball that you throw unless you say “get it”. He will create large drool puddles if you leave the room and then come back after putting food in his bowl because he won’t eat until you give him permission to do so! He also says “please” in his own little language :)

Pony Up = my daughter just got her first fish who she named Alexander yesterday… and I swear, he kisses her thru the glass of the tank already! (She’s 6 and earned the $29 to buy him and all his accoutrement sans the tank herself)! Guess that is love…

I have two Wheaten Terriers, Ryleigh and Champ who absolutely love to chew on rawhides. What they DON’T like to do is hunt them down or share, so my little female always finds two rawhides when it is time to chew. She takes one to Champ, who will otherwise and almost always steal hers before she is finished with it, so she just makes sure he is equipped with his own before her own little chewing party commences. How do they get so smart!

We have an Aussie/Blue Heeler mix who is a little trick genius. He does everything from “Gimme 10” (double high-five) to “Army Crawl” (shimmying along on his belly). He doesn’t like horses though, so should we be winners, we’ll be sure to skip over who created it. :)
Mindi says
PONY UP! My dog put AWAY his toys last night. We have a toy bin in the living room where we store his bones and stuffed animals. Normally he pulls them out to play with, but last night I watched him put them away. Amazing. Now, if only he would do my laundry while I was at work…

PONY UP! My dog, Stellar, is a 6 year old lab mix. He is the best dog, no bones about it (hehe). He acts like a deer, walking on the backs of furniture and galloping in the yard. But his GREATEST feat is his ability to jump of docks with so much flair that Johnny Weir would be jealous. I love him.
