In the breaking news department (that’s an overstatement if I’ve ever made one), although it’s the weekend I thought I’d stop in to share this super quick probably-interesting-to-no-one-but-me dining room update. Remember a few days back when I made our new curtains?
And the table looked like this?
Well, now it looks like this:
Can you already tell the difference? Here, I’ll get a little closer.
Yeah, the branches died. Probably because I didn’t even put water in the vase. Oops. How quickly the dream dies. Well, at least when the dream is lush leafy green branches that survive on love alone. And not water.
So in mini keeping-it-real news, our table is substantially less cute. But our curtains still make me want to kiss them. Passionately.
And we needed one of the plates (and a cup) so those got yoinked from the table. So the place settings (for no one) are a little wonky now. Guess it’s a sign that it’s time to un-set my nobody’s-coming-to-dinner table.
Maybe tomorrow.

I just saw your curtain fabric on Home Decorators that is used for a tufted headboard! For anyone who didn’t want to DIY one…

That looks like a very long curtain rod. Where did you find it, and how long is it? I have been looking for one for our living room window, which is 150″
YoungHouseLove says
I think it’s 144″ from Lowe’s (they didn’t have anything nearly that long at Target where we usually go). Hope it helps!

Is it totally weird that I miss Burger??! I don’t think I’ve seen him pop up in any photo lately. (I play Where’s Burger when I read your posts sometimes. Haha.)

We’ll have to get him on here again asap!

Ok…so this has nothing to do with your post, but I saw this on Better Homes and Gardens and immediately thought of you! Cool use of wallpaper :)

Love your window treatments. My husband and I re-did our kitchen and used the same fabric on our windows. If you have any interest in seeing there are pictures at kellyandcaleb.com

Sherry – Hi. I just saw your new dining room curtain fabric in the May issue of Southern Living magazine. I think it was on a pillow! YHL is everywhere. :) Wish me luck. Friday we’re ripping out the family room carpet to live with concrete for a while to see if we want to stain it or … just get new carpet. Take care.

That’s too funny! We’ll have to sneak a peek at Southern Living soon. As for your big carpet tear-out… lots of luck! And have fun.

I love the look! Just wondering what kind of glass piece would you call that on the center of you’re dining room table? I’ve been looking for something similar however, when searching online I’m not sure what to call that style of vase, jug, or pretty glass thingy. Also do you have any good suggestions for places to find white ceramic animals; I too have a special love for them. Any info would be great. Thanks
YoungHouseLove says
Hmm, maybe a large glass vase or a large glass jug? We found ours at ZGallerie a while ago, but have also seen them at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods and Marshall’s. Good luck!
