I am rarely excited by anything from JC Penney, but we just got the most amazing area rug for the living room. It has this great pattern (they call it “honeycomb”) and it’s real wool, which makes me feel like such a grown up.
It was a steal for around $200 (the detail, the quality, and the coloring is totally reminiscent of a thousand dollar version I saw a while back- yessss). Plus since I ordered it online, I was able to use a promo code to score an additional 20% off AND free shipping (tip: google the name of the store along with the words “promo code” to save a bundle of cashola- in this case I searched “JC Penney promo code”).
Here’s a close up of Burger getting to know his new play surface:

Hi guys! I’m digging around your old archives to figure out how to start our kitchen remodel (yay!), but I can’t stop myself from reading every entry too! Anyway, I’ve noticed that you’ve gone through a few rugs in your living room on your way to the one currently on your room tour. May I ask what you did with the old ones? Did you sell them on craigslist/store them?
I have a couple rooms that I’d like to get new rugs in, but since the current rugs are less than a year old (they just aren’t QUITE what I’m looking for, you know?!), I am trying to figure out if I could sell them or store them. (Btw, one of the rugs I’m not 100% happy with is a JCP one that has NOT stopped shedding after a year and constant vacuuming — did you have the problem too?)
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hey Erin,
Good question! One of our old living room rugs lives in the sunroom now and the other was sold on craigslist so that’s another good idea (move ’em around or sell ’em!). Hope it helps!
