A bunch of you asked if we’d be continuing this series from Young House Life over here after this post, and the answer is yes. So… happy Saturday! And happy Mother’s Day to all the ladies out there who are celebrating it (says the bleary eyed sleep-deprived mom who wouldn’t have it any other way).
Convo #1
Clara (stalling before bedtime): Wait! Before bed let’s talk about my room!
Mom: What about your room?
Clara: My fairy lights.
Mom: What about them?
Clara: They make… my eyes… feel… so… round.
Convo #2
Clara (randomly in the middle of breakfast after looking down at her outfit): I have the most beautiful dress in Virginia.
Convo #3
Clara (looking through an old People magazine & pointing to a gold Oscar statue from the Academy Awards): What’s that?
Mom: That’s called an Oscar statue.
Clara: The Oscar statue looks like a big fruit snack.
Convo #4
Clara (after throwing a ball in the air and catching it before it hit the ground): I’m a hero! Or maybe I’m not.
Convo #5:
Clara (after we got home from the hospital with Teddy): Today I’m going to name him Teddy, and then next time I’m going to name him Butch, and then next time I’m going to name him Barnacle, and then next time he’ll be Teddy again!

The giant fruit snack comment almost made me spit my coffee out, lol. Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

Love these. They always make me smile :) My little one is 8 months. Because I so love the Clara Conversations, I promised myself I’d get a quotable kids or other journal to remember the fun stuff he’ll say. It’s going to be a present to myself for Mother’s Day.

Clara Conversations are one of my favorite things about your blog! So cute and hilarious. I look forward to the day when we see these kinds of posts for Teddy. Oooh! Call it Teddy Talk! LOL.

I have similar thoughts about my own heroics! Love it.
Also, I think Clara wants to share the origins of that spiffy yellow garment she’s wearing in the photo. :D

It’s a dress-up dress (hand me down from her cousin). So sorry, I’m not sure where it’s from!

Oh man, she is such a gem! As is Teddy; you guys captured some positively adorable moments for his photo project! Can’t believe how rapidly he’s growing though!

ROFL! Are all kids this ridiculously funny?? “Butch” is just delicious. I remember thinking how precious Clara was as an infant, & now she’s just absolutely adorable. I can’t wait to see the cuteness Teddy will morph into. Happy belated Mother’s Day, Sherry! -You hit the jackpot! :)

I sure you have a clever/decorative way to keep track of these. We have decorative funny jar with great stories….now we will never forget about Fred the walrus that lived in the toilet during potty training. I had many a chat with him…i had to break the news to him that he needed to find a new home. And the day my older daughter dressed as a ladybug for a Halloween party told a nice gentleman in the bank that she was a pirate with one hand on her hip and tone of disgust. This us why we have kids…great entertainment.
