Fab Freebie: Space Rhino

This may be my favorite freebie title of all time. Is it the name of a band? Is it the newest Pixar film? Nope, it’s just the two words that describe the options that this week’s SIX winners will get to choose from thanks to Cardboard Safari. They’re the makers of cool, quirky animal trophies that are formed entirely out of intersecting pieces of laser-cut cardboard. So if you ever wanted that big moose head on your wall but didn’t have the heart to bust out your inner-Palin, they’ve got you covered.

In fact, Cardboard Safari is so environmentally friendly that their cardboard is all recycled, non-toxic and made locally. They’re actually based in nearby Charlottesville, VA and we’ve bumped into their quirky, cool products all over town lately (our friend Noah even helped design their skull-themed products) so we figured it was about time we did a giveaway with them.

And just as the post title suggests, we’re giving away two of their newer products as they continue to expand beyond their signature trophies. This week’s winners will get to choose from their new Full-Body Rhino OR Astro Rocket (shown above). Each comes in three sizes in either brown or white cardboard (though they’re entirely paintable if you’d prefer, say, a pink rhino). They’re shipped flat and assembly is easy (kinda like a fun puzzle).

In fact, you can check out the video below of us putting together the – prepared to be shocked – small white rhino that we snagged for our very own home. You know how Sherry is about white animal accessories. You can also watch the video here on YouTube if the video isn’t working for you below. The whole thing took us about 15 minutes, not including a bathroom break for a certain four-legged family member.

    My dream vacation is to San Francisco and Napa… and we’re going there for our honeymoon next week! We’re getting married on Saturday and this rhino would be the icing on the cake, so to speak. :o)

    Rocket Me, please!

    Our dream vacation is to travel to all of the National Parks in the U.S. — we love hiking and the outdoors, so this would be such an awesome vacation that’s right up our alley (or shall I say trail).

    Living on the East Coast, we’ve been to many, but long to venture out to some biggies out West. Yay for National Parks! :)

    RHINO ME, please….this would be perfect for a run-on joke in our house. While at the Singapore zoo (which answers the bonus question-Singapore is our dream vacation always)my daughter (6 yrs old at the time) was downwind of a nasty, nasty smell. She asked, “what is that stink?” and my hubby said “turn around and see”. She turned around and seen a Rhino’s mud covered bottom. She turned back around to us, my husband with camera in hand, captured her look of discust with the Rhino’s butt in the background. My husband had the photo blown up and proudly displayed (my daughter at first didn’t like this as she felt the ‘butt’ of the joke).It’s our favorite pic of her!

    I would love to go to Italy & Greece. Or even Michigan. One thing that I have a strong desire to do (and I’m not really sure why) is to watch the sun rise and set over Lake Michigan.

    RHINO ME!!

    and i would definitely love a safari… but space travel I would NOT! my greatest fear (outside of being stranded in the ocean) is being in space. but what i really want to do is to go on a train tour of India with my husband and my other best friend who has family there. she could be our guide through some of the country, and we love indian food, too – so that’s a bonus!

    My dream adventure vacation wouled be backpacking with my hubby through Europe. I did it with a friend during college but I think it would be so much more fun with my husband and share the experiences now!

    i’ve always dreamed (literally) of hot-air ballooning around the world! although now that i’ve seen UP, plain old ballooning around with my apartment in tow would be more ideal…in my dreams that is.

    My next big trip will (hopefully!) be to Nepal, where my husband and I plan on teahouse trekking in the Himalayas! We love adventure, have done the Europe thing and really want to explore the culture and amazing landscape of the Himalayas.

    Totally lusting over the cardboard moosehead too, especially since I’ve always had this urge to break into a Abercrombie and Fitch and flitch (haha, get it?) the giant moosehead at the register!

    My dream vacation is a trip to South Africa, and yes, I would drive north a bit too to go on a safari. I would love to visit Thailand too!
