Sorry for the hit-and-miss quiz taking y’all. Apparently you guys enjoy a good quiz as much as we do! Anyways, the lucky (random) winner this week is… Kate Bateman (who was able to get a quiz result and said her “Traditional” diagnosis was almost spot on). Congrats!
I bet most of you guys spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen over the last few days, and if it had you yearning to make some changes in there, you’ve stumbled onto the right giveaway. The folks behind some of our favorite stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Pottery Barn) have a sister site chock full of kitchen inspiration called Cultivate. In addition to photo galleries, expert advice, and a blog, they’ve also got one of our favorite ways to kill a few minutes: a Find Your Style quiz. Just pick your favorite between 10 pairs of photos and get ready for your diagnosis. And to help you put your kitchen prescription into action, they’re giving one of you a $200 gift card to use at Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. Sweet. Update: We hear the quiz is still running very slowly/crashing. Looks like Cultivate wasn’t quite ready for all of you quiz-loving folks. So sorry about that, guys!
- PRIZE: A $200 gift card to West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, or Pottery Barn courtesy of Cultivate
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CULTIVATE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …if you were lucky enough to get through and take the quiz without it crashing, what was your result? Was it accurate? Somewhere in the middle? Did it surprise you? I was shocked that my result (Contemporary) suggested a non-white kitchen. And if you can’t get through, we’re so sorry it’s running slowly/crashing!
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I was a “transitional” in the quiz, which I can definitely agree with (not that you’d know by looking at my actual kitchen, tho!)
Lauren W says
Cultivate me!
Still waiting for my quiz results.

CULTIVATE ME!
I am contemporary too – woot!
Shannon says
Cultivate Me! My style is ‘eclectic’. I suppose that’s true – I like taking old and new, traditional and modern/abstract – mixing it altogether to make it mine.

CULTIVATE ME! My style is modern, which makes no sense to me. Says I’m not one for clutter…clearly they made a mistake or maybe it’s just the people I live with…yeah, that’s it!
Amber W says
Cultivate Me! My style is modern – which is probably about right. Love some of the new, more daring looks but they are just not me!
Stephanie says
CULTIVATE ME!
I scored Transitional – which makes sense for me. Honestly, right now I would just love for my kitchen to be “non-80s!”
Zoe says
Cultivate me! I got “Transitional” on the quiz – “Timeless, refined, and sophisticated, this style is for those who are more daring than traditional design but still love a good nod to the past.” Sounds pretty accurate!
Nicole says
Cultivate me! My style is transitional, but I think it’s really eclectic. I love scandinavian and ethnic decor with some contemporary thrown in. . .
shannon says
CULTIVATE ME! couldn’t get through the quiz…but i’m certain my kitchen style could use a little refresh!

CULTIVATE ME! I tried to take the quiz but didn’t have any luck. I am interested in what it says!
Jennifer Holland says
CULTIVATE ME! I thought my quiz result would be “confused” because some of my choices were modern and some were classic. But there is a category for me…Transitional! Maybe a nice way of saying indecisive :)
Mollie says
Cultivate me! I got transitional.
Adina Treise says
CULTIVATE ME!!! I was not surprised at all with my style. I got contemporary. I’m all about those clean lines and random bright pops of color. I’m moving into a new house this coming year and would love some spending money to decorate my favorite room of the house!!!
cindy says
Cultivate me!!
Traditional. Hmmm…didn’t know for sure what my style would be classified as and can live with the results. I’m not traditional boring though — I like contemporary thrown in with the traditional. Mixin it up!
Kristy says
CULTIVATE ME!
My style is traditional, which I agree with. To me is a classy yet relaxing style, a home that looks good, but you still feel you can jump on the couch and relax and not be afraid you will break anything. :)
Lori says
Cultivate me! My result was transitional, which is totally me!
Mandi White says
Cultivate me! I tried to take the quiz, but it stopped working half way through this morning. Will try again later!
Taylor A. says
CULTIVATE ME!
The quiz definitely crashed on me, BUT I am a mix of modern and classic. I like to mix the old with the new.
Rachel says
Cultivate me! Ohmygoodness that quiz was so slow, but I’m a slightly obsessive kitchen-stalker so I powered through.
My style was Traditional: Formal, classic, and cozy, this style is for those who think a kitchen isn’t complete without crown molding and vintage charm. You’re inspired by the past and love the stately feel that antique finishes and framed cabinetry exudes.
This is EXACTLY 100% accurate! I love love loved the suggestion photo too… I may or may not have pinned it :)

Kerry says
Cultivate me!! :) My kitchen style is apparently “contemporary.” I was a little surprised – I thought I’d be more traditional. But the more I thought about it and looked into contemporary I suppose it makes sense – clean lines, simplicity, but grounded in warmth. That’s me!
