Fab Freebie: A Cultivated Kitchen

Sorry for the hit-and-miss quiz taking y’all. Apparently you guys enjoy a good quiz as much as we do! Anyways, the lucky (random) winner this week is… Kate Bateman (who was able to get a quiz result and said her “Traditional” diagnosis was almost spot on). Congrats!

I bet most of you guys spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen over the last few days, and if it had you yearning to make some changes in there, you’ve stumbled onto the right giveaway. The folks behind some of our favorite stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Pottery Barn) have a sister site chock full of kitchen inspiration called Cultivate. In addition to photo galleries, expert advice, and a blog, they’ve also got one of our favorite ways to kill a few minutes: a Find Your Style quiz. Just pick your favorite between 10 pairs of photos and get ready for your diagnosis. And to help you put your kitchen prescription into action, they’re giving one of you a $200 gift card to use at Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. Sweet. Update: We hear the quiz is still running very slowly/crashing. Looks like Cultivate wasn’t quite ready for all of you quiz-loving folks. So sorry about that, guys!

    CULTIVATE ME! My style is transitional – which makes sense because I had a hard time deciding between some of the styles!

    CULTIVATE ME!!! My result was transitional which is surprising because I have NEVER heard of that style. But, it the description nailed it – lover of clean lines, but with a nod to the past.

    Cultivate me! I am eclectic — seems spot on. My kitchen has vintage white painted cabinets, sleek stainless appliances, and a wall of Amy Butler wallpaper!

    My style is Contemporary

    “Fresh, stylish, and simple, this style is softer than modern but still minimal and unfussy in parts. You love clean lines and sleek details but need a strong grounding of warmth. Frosted cabinet inserts and light-colored woods prevail, while pops of bright color are signatures of this style.”

    I think it’s interesting to me that my style has evolved. In my early 20s, I was much more traditional/classic. Over the past few years and now at 30, my style has changed to a more contemporary but still classic aesthetic. I think my style is more transitional than anything, but this quiz was cool!

    CULTIVATE ME!

    I got lucky with the quiz and managed to get through! My result was contemporary and I agree with it 100% – modern yet still warm and welcoming with pops of color is perfect!

    CULTIVATE ME! I was able to start the quiz but got the failure message halfway. I bookmarked it to try another time. The “do you prefer” format cracked me up and made me feel like I was at the eye doctor!

    We are Contemporary. Totally true too — love modern with added warmness and pops of color. They miss the mark on calling out the light woods though… not so much :-)
