***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***
Sorry for the hit-and-miss quiz taking y’all. Apparently you guys enjoy a good quiz as much as we do! Anyways, the lucky (random) winner this week is… Kate Bateman (who was able to get a quiz result and said her “Traditional” diagnosis was almost spot on). Congrats!
I bet most of you guys spent a fair amount of time in the kitchen over the last few days, and if it had you yearning to make some changes in there, you’ve stumbled onto the right giveaway. The folks behind some of our favorite stores (West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Pottery Barn) have a sister site chock full of kitchen inspiration called Cultivate. In addition to photo galleries, expert advice, and a blog, they’ve also got one of our favorite ways to kill a few minutes: a Find Your Style quiz. Just pick your favorite between 10 pairs of photos and get ready for your diagnosis. And to help you put your kitchen prescription into action, they’re giving one of you a $200 gift card to use at Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm. Sweet. Update: We hear the quiz is still running very slowly/crashing. Looks like Cultivate wasn’t quite ready for all of you quiz-loving folks. So sorry about that, guys!
- PRIZE: A $200 gift card to West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, or Pottery Barn courtesy of Cultivate
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CULTIVATE ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …if you were lucky enough to get through and take the quiz without it crashing, what was your result? Was it accurate? Somewhere in the middle? Did it surprise you? I was shocked that my result (Contemporary) suggested a non-white kitchen. And if you can’t get through, we’re so sorry it’s running slowly/crashing!
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Nov 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States.
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Cultivate Me! I was surprised to see Eclectic…I’m completely drawn to that type of decor, but sort of freeze when it comes to actually pulling the trigger. Hopefully the confirmation that that’s my style will help me go for it!

The quiz is taking foreva to load… We’re in the middle of a DIY kitchen remodel and we struggled with whether we wanted wood or painted cabinets (we were gutting the whole thing). We ultimately decided wood which I think looks really rich and traditional in our older home. I would guess the quiz would call me traditional.
Laura says
CULTIVATE ME!
My style is Transitional which makes perfect sense. I was wondering what mixed up combo they’d come up with!

CULTIVATE ME! My style was transitional – slightly contemporary with a nod to the past. I am not surprised – it is exactly what I’d want if I could re-design my current kitchen.

Cultivate me!! And yes, I was surprised by the quiz results – apparently I’m transitional?!
Heather Flint says
Cultivate me!…pretty please!! :)
My style was Transitional (Timeless, refined, and sophisticated, this style is for those who are more daring than traditional design but still love a good nod to the past)
Even though I seem to change my mind a lot about what style, color, look I’m going for, I’d say at the current moment/second the transitional kitchen described my style. Off to take the quiz again…. hahah :)

CULTIVATE ME! The quiz pegged me as someone who leans towards “transitional.” 100% accurate, and I wasn’t surprised as my whole house – current kitchen included – is a blend of new and old, modern and traditional.
Susan G. says
CULTIVATE ME! My style was transitional, which seemed close. I had a hard time deciding between some of the choices. I think any style in my kitchen other than what’s there now would be a welcome change though…
Lisa says
Cultivate me!!!!
Took the quiz and it said transitional. The picture they showed with that description is pretty much exactly what I would choose, darker floors, but pretty spot on :)
Aimee says
CULTIVATE ME! Well I tried to take the quiz but it kept failing on me half way through. If I did take the quiz it would probably have told me my style is transitional.

CULTIVATE ME!
The quiz is still down but I’m house-hunting and had a dream that I would know my house by the kitchen, which had glass-fronted mocha wood cabinets and shiny granite countertops. I’m skeptical and I know you love your (gorgeous!) white kitchen, but how nice would that be?!
