You guys hit the 10,000 entry cap to giveaway within 24 hours, so you must love some Fab as much as I do (or perhaps you just like $500). Either way, we’ve crowned a random winner and it is… Whitney (who says “Most of my apartment is muted gray, yellow, and blue, but my kitchen has bright red baking dishes on display.”) Congrats Whitney!
I’m a recent addict to Fab (I own more t-shirts from there than I probably should admit). So imagine my reaction when I got an email from them offering to do a – wait for it – $500 Fab gift card giveaway for you guys. Their site includes items marked down between 10-60% from retail prices across just about every category – home, accessories, art, kitchen, pets, kids, clothing, jewelry, etc. And everything is selected with a discriminating-but-not-too-serious design eye. There’s an emphasis on quirky, weird, and colorful items within their sales… which means there’s a lot of fun to be had while spending the five hundred beans that are up for grabs.
- PRIZE: A $500 gift card toward Fab
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FAB ME!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …what’s something weird, quirky, or colorful in your home that you love? Is it a bold art print in your entryway? An armchair with a happy pattern in your living room? Or several dozen ceramic animals placed throughout your house… not that we’d know anything about that.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 30th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond specific areas (more on that here). This giveaway is open to the United States, Canada, and much of Europe (click here for a specific list of countries)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

My quirky object is my “art gallery” consisting of two paintings :) The first is a gift from an illustrator friend depicting a man hiking on a planet in space, and the other is an icebear that my brother painted at the ripe age of two, which I find oddly beautiful. Actually I’m getting a third one, an original sketch of a webcomic I love. It’s the dorky corner of the room :)

FAB ME! I found a rainbow-colored, geometric-inspired oil painting in a bagel shop about 8 years ago and bought it on the spot. I love it because I see something new in it everytime I look at it.

FAB ME (please?)
One of my favorite colorful pieces in my house is a gorgeous blue hand-blown glass bowl that sits on our dark brown sofa table. We got the bowl from an artisan at the Ohio Renaissance Festival a couple years ago, and although it set us back more than we would ever normally spend on a bowl, it was well worth it!
Damia says
FAB ME!
I’m currently working on some fun chevron-print pillow cases in aqua, yellow and grey for our sofa :)
Cassie says
Fab Me! I found this print of a woman from I’d say the renaissance era at Good Will. It’s reminiscent of a John Singer Sargent. It’s super random in my house, but I love it.

The most quirky colorful item in our home is actually two IKEA prints of cartoon-y looking flowers that are every color of the rainbow. They make me smile every time I see them! And they’re tucked away in a bathroom so you gotta actually get in there to find them. :)
Sarah says
FAB ME!! My favorite thing in my house is actually an art print from Fab. It’s an anatomically correct drawing of the chest cavity and a YOU ARE HERE pointing to the heart. I bought it for my fiancé for Christmas and he loved it just as much! :-)

My husband and I collect barometers. We just found another one this weekend at a flea market. We only buy ones that we like the look of and that are different from ones we already have. They hang in our living room, making it look a bit like we’re VERY obsessed with the weather.

I have some very colorful prints that I got from an art fair last year. One is a Kilroy’s, a bar at IU, and the other is Harry’s, a bar at Purdue… my husband and I have a house-divided :) (Go Boilers!)

FAB ME!
We have a lot of really neat art that’s been given to my husband over the years. There’s a poster-sized panoramic satellite photo of Western New York (given to him by his coworkers from a lab he worked in at college), and a chart from HistoryShots showing the progress of NASA and the Soviet space agency during the Space Race.

Fab Me! We were gifted a quirkly little UVA gnome a while back and we have placed it back on a shelf in the guest bath that you can really only see if you’re sitting down on the toilet. We like to see who feels comfortable enough to come out and joke about the gnome (who may or may not be watching them)…creepy? maybe…but always funny!

Kelsey says
FAB ME! My favorite quirky thing in my home… GOSH, is it strange that this is as difficult as picking a favorite child? I think I’ll have to choose the suuuuper long maroon and gold oar that was used by the University of Minnesota rowing team. (I work there and also went to school there.) We have it hanging in the screen porch over the top of the windows.
Kate says
FAB ME! My favorite quirky piece in my apartment is probably the picture of 2 manatees drinking martinis that my dad bought me right before I started an internship in Orlando. Because it’s manatees. And they’re drinking martinis. ‘Nough said.

My favourite weird thing that I have is a print of a chunky cat sitting and watching tv that says “I love you just the way I am.” I originally saw it when I was travelling Australia, but didn’t buy it because I thought it would get wrecked. I later found it online and was SO happy to be able to order it.
