We’d heard of the “slow food movement” before, but not the “slow clothes movement” – until this week’s giveaway sponsor reached out to us. Saffron Marigold creates luxury Indian linens, and they make each tablecloth, bedspread, curtain and pillow cover very meticulously (both to safeguard traditional techniques and deliver a high quality finished product). Just think, all of these patterns have been meticulously hand-printed inch-by-inch using traditional woodblock techniques in Saffron Marigold’s Indian artisan studios. Pretty fantastic, eh?
And this week TWO of you are going to have a chance to enjoy TWO pieces of these slowly and beautifully made linens in your home. Each winner will get their choice of a lovely tablecloth or table runner…
…and their choice of a gorgeous and graphic cushion cover.
And while you’re over on their site browsing their stunning designs, be sure to check out the photo slideshow of their time-intensive process which details how they create all the unbelievably intricate patterns. It will truly give you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these prizes. And you’ll also soon get to appreciate a sweet discount they’re dishing out (stay tuned for those details on Thursday).
So here’s the gist:
- PRIZE: Your choice of any tablecloth or table runner from Saffron Marigold, plus one cushion cover.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MARIGOLD ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us something that you feel is always better when you take your time. Maybe you agree with the slow food or slow clothes movement? Or you prefer to give lots of time to painting or a DIY project? Perhaps you’re just a slow and very careful driver?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 9nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the WORLD!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Baking is always better if I take my time; if I rush and miss something then the whole thing is a disaster.

I feel a good book is always better when I take my time. But that’s tough because if I like it I always want to read it really fast so I can see what happens!

I like to take my time when I am at the gym, or otherwise being active. If I set out on a walk, bike ride, or go to the gym with limited time to spare, I might feel more anxious and frazzled than when I set out!

I think writing letters slowly is a good idea. That way you can really think through what you’re trying to tell them. It also sounds like it comes from the heart that way.

I definitely think food tastes better when I take the time to cook from scratch. And I’m a huge fan of the slow, leisurely enjoyment of a meal – I never want my dinner parties to end!

Those are absolutely gorgeous!!
I like taking my time with dishes. I know, it’s weird, but I hate using the dishwasher. I LOVE handwashing them – I feel like they get cleaner, and it’s kind of theraputic for me. My “alone time” if you will. The water in the sink is loud enough to drown out any other noise and it’s just sudsing, washing, rinsing, drying, repeat.
Love it.

MARIGOLD ME! Spending time with my son every evening is better when I take my time – watching him eat, playing with him in the bath, cuddling before bed with a book, and kissing him goodnight. He grows so fast, I want to remember him well as a baby and toddler.

I am a very impatient person so taking my time only happens when I really care about something! I’m making a light fixture right now that requires meticulous cutting and finicky pieces and my husband is amazed that I’m doing it because I typically have no patience. Just like this weekend, I hung wallpaper in my kitchen and took the time to properly measure and make sure the pattern matched! But when it comes to cooking or anything else… I don’t take my time and it ends up being a disaster!!!!! :-) (thats why my husband does the cooking!!)

I definitely agree with the slow food movement. Bread, pasta, pasta sauce and soup are always better when made from scratch – especially so when you use local ingredients. This is a fabulous give-away. Thank you!

I do a lot of DIY projects and attention to detail is extremely important. This weekend we were finishing a media cabinet that we built the prior weekend and you really need to take your time making sure to construct and finish it properly! Very impressive that these linens are hand-stamped.

Hmmm, doing something carefully and slowly. I enjoy taking extra care and time with almost everything. Cutting corners really never pays off in the end. My husband would say I need to drive a little more slowly, but I always try to be as careful as possible. ;)
