We’d heard of the “slow food movement” before, but not the “slow clothes movement” – until this week’s giveaway sponsor reached out to us. Saffron Marigold creates luxury Indian linens, and they make each tablecloth, bedspread, curtain and pillow cover very meticulously (both to safeguard traditional techniques and deliver a high quality finished product). Just think, all of these patterns have been meticulously hand-printed inch-by-inch using traditional woodblock techniques in Saffron Marigold’s Indian artisan studios. Pretty fantastic, eh?
And this week TWO of you are going to have a chance to enjoy TWO pieces of these slowly and beautifully made linens in your home. Each winner will get their choice of a lovely tablecloth or table runner…
…and their choice of a gorgeous and graphic cushion cover.
And while you’re over on their site browsing their stunning designs, be sure to check out the photo slideshow of their time-intensive process which details how they create all the unbelievably intricate patterns. It will truly give you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these prizes. And you’ll also soon get to appreciate a sweet discount they’re dishing out (stay tuned for those details on Thursday).
So here’s the gist:
- PRIZE: Your choice of any tablecloth or table runner from Saffron Marigold, plus one cushion cover.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MARIGOLD ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us something that you feel is always better when you take your time. Maybe you agree with the slow food or slow clothes movement? Or you prefer to give lots of time to painting or a DIY project? Perhaps you’re just a slow and very careful driver?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 9nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the WORLD!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I am a hairstylist and I have learned how important it is to take time when you are creating a style for someone. Even if it is just a cut or color the time that you take to think the whole process through is what I think really makes the difference from looking good to looking Great!!!

I like to take my time enjoying a nice, hot bubble bath! I have 5 kids that keep me busy all day long. So, I like to slow down and relax at night with some ME time :)

Most things that require time and patience are handled by my husband. I love to paint and diy but I like results yesterday! Reading books to our son is best when we take it slow – taking time to look at the pictures before turning each page and discussing what we see and have read.

I agree that when you take your time with anything it always seems to turn out better/make you happier. But what comes to mind at the present time is kissing my husband… Take your time and lay a big wet kiss on him. It truly will make a big difference in your day! :)

While I believe that taking my time is better, it is the hardest thing for me to do. I am constantly having to step back because I get too rushed.

MARIGOLD ME! Recently engaged (as of last sunday) I am learning that I have to take my time with all the planning otherwise it gets overwhelming. We’re still so early on in our brainstorming stage! I know that if we take it slow, we can be sure that we encorporate all of the things that are important to us!

Slowing down is something I need to do more often…. I do always make sure to take my time when catching up with my family & friends, though. No rushing through that!

“MARIGOLD ME!!!” Although I hardly ever have the time for it, I love when I can prepare an awesome home cooked meal that I take my time with. Even making cookies or cakes from scratch tastes WAY better than the boxed kind so I love when I get a chance to put aside a couple of hours and just cook!

I like to take a lot of time to visit with friends. Not a big fan of “I can fit you in between 2:17 and 2:29 next Thursday.” The best and most meaningful bond-strengthening conversations come after you’ve had a chance to get the more superficial chat out of the way.

Unfortunately, I have little patience with my projects. I start well, but then just want to finish it, so things often end up not as nice as they could. But one thing I do take my time with is raising my boys. I know they will not turn into men overnight, so little by little we work on them becoming amazing men.

Food is always better when you take your time. One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten was at a tiny family-run restaurant in the small city of Ascoli Piceno, Italy. We ate for about four hours and nothing has ever tasted so good!

I take my time with food! I love every aspect of food: gardening, farmers’ markets, cooking and of course eating. I like to savor every bite and enjoy the meal, so I am always the last one done with a meal. I hear if you eat slower you eat less, but I’m not too sure how scientific that one is…

Marigold Me!!! PLEASE!!!!
In the summer – I take my time trolling around the lake in our boat sipping slowly on a cold beverage with the family – after all there is only about 3 months to enjoy that!
