We’d heard of the “slow food movement” before, but not the “slow clothes movement” – until this week’s giveaway sponsor reached out to us. Saffron Marigold creates luxury Indian linens, and they make each tablecloth, bedspread, curtain and pillow cover very meticulously (both to safeguard traditional techniques and deliver a high quality finished product). Just think, all of these patterns have been meticulously hand-printed inch-by-inch using traditional woodblock techniques in Saffron Marigold’s Indian artisan studios. Pretty fantastic, eh?
And this week TWO of you are going to have a chance to enjoy TWO pieces of these slowly and beautifully made linens in your home. Each winner will get their choice of a lovely tablecloth or table runner…
…and their choice of a gorgeous and graphic cushion cover.
And while you’re over on their site browsing their stunning designs, be sure to check out the photo slideshow of their time-intensive process which details how they create all the unbelievably intricate patterns. It will truly give you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these prizes. And you’ll also soon get to appreciate a sweet discount they’re dishing out (stay tuned for those details on Thursday).
So here’s the gist:
- PRIZE: Your choice of any tablecloth or table runner from Saffron Marigold, plus one cushion cover.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MARIGOLD ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us something that you feel is always better when you take your time. Maybe you agree with the slow food or slow clothes movement? Or you prefer to give lots of time to painting or a DIY project? Perhaps you’re just a slow and very careful driver?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 9nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the WORLD!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

MARIGOLD ME!
Good golly these are beautiful pieces.
We spend our weeks and Saturdays busy with house projects and other crazy things, but Sundays are meant for slowing down. Sleeping in and going to the late service at church, followed by Sunday brunch… then sitting down to read magazines, nap and plan our week, then a leisurely walk through the grocery store. Nothing is rushed on Sunday. It’s a house rule!
There’s another thing that’s better when you take it slow, but maybe it’s inappropriate to mention? ;-)

I think that waking up is much better when you go slowly. I like to set my alarm 15 minutes before I need to get up and enjoy snuggling with my SO instead of hopping right out of bed.

Marigold me! My favorite slow projects are definitely food-related. Home-made ice cream and pasta sauce are just two items that are so much better made fresh!

MARIGOLD ME! I slow down and enjoy some cookies and milk at the end of the day. Also, when doing a diy project, I find that the final result is better or nicer, if I take my time.

MARIGOLD ME!! Taking my time during my morning walk is always so much better than hurrying along. It makes me more aware of my surroundings and better able to take in the beauty of our nature-friendly neighborhood!

With my hectic life, anytime I can take my time on any task is a blessing! Oftentimes constant multitasking is exhausting, and taking a “break” to just do one thing and do it mindfully, is so good for me. I especially love taking my time in the garden and while shopping at Farmers markets or garage sales.

MARIGOLD ME!
Though I tend to rush to get it over with, I find I get best results (including happiness) from taking my time to complete my work out. Though most is cardio and weights, I think slow and steady makes me work harder and longer!
Teri says
Marigold me, s’il vous plait! I honestly think that taking your time doing most things saves a lot of headaches later. :)
Sarah S says
MARIGOLD ME!
I’m a perfectionist and not very good at multi-tasking so most anything I care about is done slowly and purposefully! I don’t like the American go-go-go pace of life… I like to take life in and enjoy it.

Marigold Me! I am a nurse, and I always think it is best, although not always possible, to be sure to take my time with each patient. Giving them my full attention and really being present with them.

Carolyn H. says

Family time is best slow. I believe that it’s best to take your time, be fully present, cherish every moment and hang on to those closest to you. Everything changes so fast and all we get are those fleeting moments with each other.
Miranda says
MARIGOLD ME! I’m always in a rush, but I do make bread and peanut butter every week. Hubby likes to take PB & J for lunch every day, so I try to “healthy it up” as much as possible…can’t rush the bread, a long slow rise is best.
Jermaine D. says
MARIGOLD ME! I love to take my time eating, more fun and better for your body.

I like to take some time for myself in the morning before my toddler wakes up to actually enjoy a HOT cup of tea. With the baby due in 3 weeks, I think I’ll be stuck with lukewarm ones for a while!
Tarcia says
MARIGOLD ME!
I’m a mom to a two girls (4yo and almost 2yo). For me it’s not a matter of slowing down doing any one task. I have to remind myself to allot more time to do everyday things. I need to allot more time for getting ready and out the house. When I give my toddler the time she needs to climb in the car by herself, things go more smoothly than when I try to rush and get her loaded at the last minute. That’s also true for my 4yo.

MARIGOLD ME! These are simply beautiful!
I am slow at picking new art/frames/home accessories. I need to make sure that it is the right piece for my space before I buy it. I have bought (and lost receipts) too many times to things I ended up not liking. Our family room walls have been bare for over a month…my husband wishes I would speed up a bit Im sure ;)
