We’d heard of the “slow food movement” before, but not the “slow clothes movement” – until this week’s giveaway sponsor reached out to us. Saffron Marigold creates luxury Indian linens, and they make each tablecloth, bedspread, curtain and pillow cover very meticulously (both to safeguard traditional techniques and deliver a high quality finished product). Just think, all of these patterns have been meticulously hand-printed inch-by-inch using traditional woodblock techniques in Saffron Marigold’s Indian artisan studios. Pretty fantastic, eh?
And this week TWO of you are going to have a chance to enjoy TWO pieces of these slowly and beautifully made linens in your home. Each winner will get their choice of a lovely tablecloth or table runner…
…and their choice of a gorgeous and graphic cushion cover.
And while you’re over on their site browsing their stunning designs, be sure to check out the photo slideshow of their time-intensive process which details how they create all the unbelievably intricate patterns. It will truly give you an appreciation for the craftsmanship that went into these prizes. And you’ll also soon get to appreciate a sweet discount they’re dishing out (stay tuned for those details on Thursday).
So here’s the gist:
- PRIZE: Your choice of any tablecloth or table runner from Saffron Marigold, plus one cushion cover.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MARIGOLD ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … tell us something that you feel is always better when you take your time. Maybe you agree with the slow food or slow clothes movement? Or you prefer to give lots of time to painting or a DIY project? Perhaps you’re just a slow and very careful driver?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 9nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the WORLD!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Ohhh. so happy with this post. Lately, I’ve become very obsessed with table linens.
…I thought and thought and can’t think if a thing I do slow…but my favorite part of the day is when I can sit outside in the evening with a glass of wine and just relax, just listening to the waterfall in our pond. ahh heaven.

Walking hand in hand with my hubby. A few weeks ago, my husband and I went on our first date since having our first child a few months ago. Any time we’ve gone out with her it’s been in such a rush…I’m always walking fast to squeeze in whatever errands must be run in between her naps. I forgot how much I enjoyed strolling at a leisurely pace.

Slowing down is something I am working on.. although it’s not going as well ad I’d hope. I think It’s going to be my resolution for next year, and I’m really going to make a go of it.

I always feel better when I take the time to pack my own lunch…it usually tastes way better (and is healthier) than anything I can pick up on the go.

Like Fran T-C, I’m a really slow decision maker, but only with small decisions! What kind of cookie to buy takes me 10 minutes. But figuring out major life changes, like moving across the country? About 2 minutes. However, I *wish* I spent more time enjoying my food. I scarf it down.

Oh, there are so many things that are better when you take your time. But after hosting a successful family brunch with my fiance yesterday, I have to say that pancakes, bacon, and eggs always turn out best when there’s no rush.

I think it’s important to take my time doing a lot of things, but the first thing that honestly came to mind was to take time putting on mascara. Poking myself in the eye with the mascara wand is not something I’d like to re-experience. :)

Oh, how I love these table cloths! :) I think that everything is better with time! We are really learning that while re-doing our home! Instead of impulsively buying and jumping at something we see, we are learning to take time to reflect and slowly work our ideas into real-life before we start! :)

Marigold Me! I love Indian textiles and always have. My brother and sister were born in New Delhi and my parents have many table clothes and napkins from there, that I have always loved. And recently my mother gave me all of her antique printing stamps and I use them for my pottery.
I am really slow when I create my pottery. As I am getting older I feel the need to slow down and be present in whatever task I am doing, even washing my hands. Just to be in the present and breathe is so important. As a society, I feel we are getting away from the simple tasks of creating.
