We often daydream about having the iconic white Christmas here in Virginia (which is extremely rare in these parts) but after this weekend’s crazy snowstorm it looks like we might actually have one. Or at least a whatever-color-you-call-half-melted-dirty-snow-that-hangs-around-for-a-week Christmas.
But as of today we think you’ll be dreaming of a holiday with a bit more color thanks to Glidden. So yes, as Sunny, Lacey, Travis and Nicole guessed at the end of last week’s giveaway, this week’s prize of “one of our all time favorite items” is indeed paint. In fact, Glidden’s got a gallon for a handful of you in your choice of color and finish so there’s plenty to go around.
And if we haven’t already made it abundantly clear in over two years of blogging: we love Glidden’s colors. From Gentle Tide in our bedroom and kitchen to Sand White in our living room and guest bedroom, we’ve got Glidden’s fantastic hues on almost every wall of our house. And even though we’re sad that some of those colors didn’t make the cut when Glidden revamped their line earlier this year, we totally dig how user-friendly the new lineup of colors are (they even suggest complementary accent hues on the back of each paint swatch). Plus you can easily browse inspiration rooms and coordinating color schemes both in-store and on their web site and they offer tester bottles with built-in brushes for every color. It doesn’t get much more convenient that that.
But enough jabbering. It’s time for the entry details:
- PRIZE: Each winner will receive a voucher to be redeemed at their neighborhood Home Depot for one gallon of Glidden paint in any color and finish of their choice.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CAN ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what colors are getting you into the holiday spirit this season. Is it the traditional red and green pairing? Unconventional schemes like lavender and silver? Or do you really just have your heart set on that white Christmas concept?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 23rd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: FIVE!
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Our Christmas decorations are traditional red and green – but I love the look of silver and blues!

CAN ME brown and white and red – as in brown paper packages, tied up with string, and topped off with a red wax insignia seal.

CAN ME! This holiday season we are thinking in pinks and yellows…we are putting together our daughters ‘big girl’ room as we are expecting our 2nd in June :) and with the wainscoting on the bottom of the wall – the top will be pink with a thick yellow stripe through the middle :) We could definitely use some free paint!!
Beth says
CAN ME! I’ve usually been more in the burgundy red family but this year I found some gorgeous red faux amaryllis (amarylli?) at IKEA and used those for an inspiration.

I’m always loving a little turquoise accent, so any blue/turquoise/silver combo gets me feeling Christmas-ready (spiked eggnog helps too…)!

Not traditional colors, but purple and silver. I don’t think purple is considered a traditional Christmas color, at least.

I don’t stick to a color scheme. I like a big ole modge podge of colors during the holidays. The other 11 months get their polished look, so December is all about the rainbow!
Cher says
CAN ME! I went with a ton of white, more white, and even more white! With touches of pale mint green, pale blue, and sky blue. I was going for a snowy winter-wonderland-type look.

I’m loving the red on green traditional colors. We didn’t want to veer too far away from tradition this year as it’s the first year our 2 1/2 year old is really getting into all the decor! So much fun! Maybe when he’s older, I’ll go for a more untraditional/retro silver and cobalt blue and kermit green, etc.

I am a California native who married a guy from upstate NY… So now I spend every other Christmas in NY…and the sight of snow will definitely get me in the Christmas spirit!

Navy blue and gold for Chanukah — but green and brown and white, with a few accents of red, for Christmas. (Thank goodness for a house with two living rooms, for a “mixed” marriage!) :-)

I LOVE Glidden paint too! I love Parchment White and plan to update all my beautful old trim and moulding in the house, especially all the trim that the previous owner painted to match each wall in each room. Ugh. I am also LOVING Cafe Latte and Mid Day Mocha, which could find their way into my guest bedroom.
