It’s not every day that you get an email from the country’s largest science museum, which is why my nerd-dar went off the charts after the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago reached out to offer up $350 towards some museum-worthy art. They’ve launched a photography shop offering dozens of museum images as fine art prints and wrapped canvases. The images cover everything from historic pictures and illustrations (some of my faves being old trade catalogs, like the “Types of Screws” chart below) to photos of museum exhibits and artifacts, like their iconic baby chicks, colorful architectural prints, or old timey bicycles.
Please use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter (it might take a second to load, but it should eventually pop up below this paragraph). This giveaway is available to residents of the USA and Canada.

What a neat contest… I love different things like this that actually add character to a home instead of always buying my “stuff” at Target.. LOL.
Thanks, guys!

This is my favorite museum in Chicago! There are so many really cool exhibits, including a fairytale house, baby chicks and a fetal development progression. It’s definitely worth it to plan a visit!

Is this open to international readers? I hope so!
YoungHouseLove says
This one’s open to the US and Canada. We were having a strange glitch where the paragraph that says that disappeared when the Rafflecopter box loaded, but it’s all fixed now. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi guys, not sure if it my iPad or your site, but the second paragraph (with info about who can enter contest) shows up for just a second when I hit refresh, but then disappears.

It looks like it disappears when the raffle copter box opens.

What a cool giveaway! We are not too far from Chicago, and I am definitely checking this out. Did you guys hear George Lucas is going to build his museum in Chicago near the other Chicago lakefront museums? 17 acres of Lucas film history, etc.

So cool!

Woot, woot! Museum of Science and Industry is my favorite in Chicago…. also, I drive by it everyday!
Meg says
Love it! And we sure have a lot of bare walls to fill. Thanks for the chance!
Catherine says
Thank you again for making these contests so easy to enter! Such a relief from other sites. Just a quick question, do you contact the winner or are we meant to come back and check?
YoungHouseLove says
We email the winner but sometimes that goes to spam, so checking back to see the name displayed on the Rafflecopter box after the contest closes never hurts!

Best. Museum. Ever! :) I highly recommend a road trip with your kiddos some day. It’s a few kinds of awesome.

What timing! We finished our modest kitchen remodel about five months ago and we have a wall space that I can’t find the right print for. Something black and white I am thinking. Love your site so much!!

The Museum of Science and Industry has been one of my favorite Chicago spots to visit since I was a kid – providing lots of excitement with interactive exhibits. Great to see the artistic side against the science side.

My favorite museum teaming up with one of my favorite blogs? HEAVEN.

I love the MSI. I can’t wait until my little one is old enough to enjoy visiting!
One thing that always fascinated me is that the MSI building was the Palace of Fine Arts building at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.

This is completely off topic, but have you guys seen the Nix?? It’s supposedly a colour sensor that scans any item, and tells you the color in RGB, CMYK, etc. The advertising claims the app can even search paint libraries!! Kind of like a photoshop eyedropper for real life…
Anyway, ultra nerdy me is excited beyond words (maybe everyone else has already read all about this) and was curious if you’ve heard anything about it?

Such a cool give away! My husband and I are nerds and are total junkies for science museums. Haven’t been to Chicago yet, but it’s certainly on our list!

What a cool contest! Random question. What happened to the pinterest challenge? I don’t think I’ve seen one in a long time!
YoungHouseLove says
Oh man, we have fallen off (the last one we did was over a year ago last spring!). We’ll have to see if we can get them going again!

I’d love to win this, I work at a museum so it would be very fitting!

Oh my goodness… If only the fates controlled Rafflecopter. I’m a scientist, my husband is an artist… the connections between science and art were how we named tables at our wedding. And I volunteered at that museum while I was getting my PhD just down the road at the University of Chicago. Come on Rafflecopter (picture me blowing on imaginary dice right now…)

What an awesome freebie – pity I am on the opposite side of the globe :(
Thanks for the great blog, look forward to each post!

OMG OMG OMG. Guys, world’s coolest giveaway, thank you! This exiled Chicagoan currently sweltering in southern New Mexico has every digit crossed! (You can imagine how difficult it is to type. But we persevere.)

AAAAHHHHH!!!! I live in Chicago, but the MSI is my FAVORITE place to play tourist in my own city. I had no idea they sold prints! So geeked to get some of my own, contest nonwithstanding (Thank you, word-of-the-day-toilet-paper. Hey, maybe you should invest in some of that special TP to encourage Clara’s vocabulary!) You should see the GIANT dollhouse they just did a massive cleaning and updating to- it’s like YHL if you were massively mega-rich and owned teeny-tiny power tools.
YoungHouseLove says
That sounds awesome!

Long time reader, big fan, first time commenter
On the America-only give-aways you used to say “We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but ..” – how come you don’t say that anymore? It makes me feel a little more unloved as a Brit :( I liked knowing you were sorry we weren’t eligible, and that you tried your best for us!
YoungHouseLove says
Aw thanks Pippa! We’re still begging every time, but we thought that wording was getting repetitive, so now we try to add “but next week’s is international” if a certain week’s prize is only open to the US (like we did on last week’s giveaway since this week’s included Canada). Here’s hoping we can nail down even more of those in July!

Yes, we email the winners and their name is posted on the Rafflecopter box after the contest closes :)

Oooo I love the trade magazine prints. I’d love to see more technical drawings too. I have a soft spot for those. Also, it’s so cool to look at all of the old bikes and motorcycles and see the different way they evolved.

Gah! I have a lifetime of memories visiting MSI and my kids can navigate that place like they own it! This would be an awesome prize!
lisa says
I first visited when I was 13 and I remember being so fascinated, especially by the dollhouse and the submarine, so much so that when hubby and I went to Chicago for our first anniversary I dragged him there…but he’s a science nerd so liked it too. Love!

Oh my word! This is so awesome. We LOOOOOVE MSI. My husband and I went there on our first date :)

OMG, how cool is this?! I’ve been browsing through the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago art shop since you notified me that I was the winner and WOW! There’s so much to choose from! I may have to treat myself to the aerial view print of the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair, or maybe an image of the Jones Live Map Meter, or the Chicago Pediment and Dome photo! Oh! And gotta have a set of those antique bikes! Wow, I’m gonna be like a kid in a candy shop! Thanks a bunch, John & Sherry!
