This next giveaway came to us as a nursery-themed giveaway, but personally we think Numsi‘s uniquely mod art is suitable for walls of any age. Their contemporary patterns (or custom text) is printed on canvas and then mounted on a 2″ deep birch museum frame to give it some modern dimension and bring some pop to you art collection.
Plus, since the deep birch plywood cradle makes these blocks of art so sturdy, they can hang on the wall, sit on a shelf or anchor your latest mantlescape. So have some fun browsing their collection of animals and vehicles or patterns and text, because one of you is taking away a $100 credit towards anything on Numsi’s site this week (and the rest of you are taking away a sweet discount).
Here’s how to enter this week:
- PRIZE: $100 towards anything from Numsi.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLOCK ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … since we’re referencing writer’s block, why not share a tip that you use to overcome any creativity or productivity block. Do you go someplace special to help you focus? Got an mental exercise to get your juice flowing again? Or do just go do something else and hope the motivation finds you again later.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 19th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I am a Fine Artist. When I get “Painter’s Block,” I have to step away. Sometimes I switch paintings, and sometimes I make a book, or draw. Sometimes all it takes to free yourself from a block is the knowledge that you have the ability to finish something!

BLOCK ME!!!
I am an English teacher, so I encounter students with writer’s block every single day! I also have it myself sometimes, and what helps me the most is to think about where I want my writing to end. I have been known to start from my conclusion or summary and write backwards, adding in details as I go. Walking away from the writing also works – just be sure to have something where you can jot down notes as your mind clears!

I think back to my college and post college years. Sitting in the kitchen of a rented place (in Richmond no less!) and being free to do, think, and create anything I wanted. No kids, no husband yet, no house payment. Just me, a bottle of wine and the occassional cockroach to get my creative juices flowing!!!!

do i really need to say “block me”? i mean, if i type “block me” i’m just doing what you tell me to do and i’m not in control. on the other hand, i do want to win so i better say “block me” well, let me think about it a little more.
music is what motivates me. right now it’s: band of horses, snow patrol, sufjan stevens, and broken bells to name a few.

Block me! If I get blocked, I tend to step away and listen to music or do something that doesnt involve heavy thinking. Usually it comes back while I am doing that. That way it’s not so bad when it does hit, because I don’t feel bad leaving something mind numbing!
Amy Steinberg says
BLOCK ME! As a former English Major, turned Registered Nurse, I no longer have to deal with writer’s block (there isn’t too much creativity involved in writing an assessment note). Back in my days of writing 10 plus page papers, however, I always found a walk in the fresh air to be the best medicine for writer’s block!
