This next giveaway came to us as a nursery-themed giveaway, but personally we think Numsi‘s uniquely mod art is suitable for walls of any age. Their contemporary patterns (or custom text) is printed on canvas and then mounted on a 2″ deep birch museum frame to give it some modern dimension and bring some pop to you art collection.
Plus, since the deep birch plywood cradle makes these blocks of art so sturdy, they can hang on the wall, sit on a shelf or anchor your latest mantlescape. So have some fun browsing their collection of animals and vehicles or patterns and text, because one of you is taking away a $100 credit towards anything on Numsi’s site this week (and the rest of you are taking away a sweet discount).
Here’s how to enter this week:
- PRIZE: $100 towards anything from Numsi.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLOCK ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … since we’re referencing writer’s block, why not share a tip that you use to overcome any creativity or productivity block. Do you go someplace special to help you focus? Got an mental exercise to get your juice flowing again? Or do just go do something else and hope the motivation finds you again later.
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, May 19th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One

BLOCK ME!
I have no chance of overcoming writer’s block (or any kind of productivity block) if my “area”–my den, house, whatever–isn’t picked up. Picking up my space usually unblocks me, but if I still feel blocked, then I set the timer and just work for a specified amount of time. For instance, if I’m writing, then I just write, anything, without thinking about whether it is good or anything, until time is up. Or if I’m sewing, then I just start sorting fabric, washing it, practicing some of the hard stitches or techniques on scraps until time is up. This way, I got started, and the next time I sit down to work on the project I have something to start from. And no matter how bad the start is, it’s always better an more inspiring than nothing.
Tia says
BLOCK ME. I usually get up and do anything else to clear my mind. Frequently just a walk with some fresh air does the trick, or even some house cleaning to make me feel productive.

When I have a creativity block, as a writer, I force myself to work through it. Even if I create something I don’t love, I feel like at least I worked at it rather than giving in. =)

Since I’m currently writing my doctoral comprehensive exams, writer’s block has been a bit of a problem. I usually take a break for a hot shower, which helps, and promise myself rewards for later in the date, like a latte or fat glass of wine.

BLOCK ME!!!
If I am in need for a little inspiration, I just pull out a piece of cardboard and some paint and just start filling in space with random colors…. after only a few brush strokes something comes. I am left with a great piece of “art” and ideas for several other things. Plus it gets me in an artistic mood :)

BLOCK ME
To clear a creative block, I usually have to take the advice from the movie Finding Forrester and start copying another artist or piece of work until I can unleash my creativity and start making something of my own. It’s so eye-opening, too, when you imitate someone’s style or process because I learn new ways to do things and that always affects my own work.
