Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    I love over-the-top Christmas lights on any house, and if they’re set to music, I could probably watch for hours!

    I stick to white lights and neutral colors for the holidays. Colored lights look nice on other houses, but just not for me.

    Lamp Me!

    I love simple white lights on a Christmas tree with lots of meaningful ornaments. Im not a fan of outdoor lights…but love to look at others!

    The large white bulbs are my favorite but I also love the old ceramic multi colored lights my grandparents used to have!

    Lamp Me! My favorite Christmas lighting is a collection of mercury glass candle holders that look really lovely when holding flickering candles.

    LAMP ME!!! I love every kind of Christmas lights. But my absolute favorite is the glow of twinkle lights on a beautifully decorated Christmas tree.

    LAMP ME! I love the twinkling warm white lights I saw in my neighbor’s pencil tree (Euphorbia tirucalli). It was so elegant and unexpected because in the dark it looks like the lights are floating- almost like fireflies, a real delight.

    i am a white light girl- just the simple string of lights, not icicle. we do have an evergreen in our yard though that is just like a christmas tree- i put colored lights only on that, and then white lights frame our porch. i do the colored lights on that one tree because my kids love the colored!

    I love a good fire (in the fireplace) and as for Christmas lights, I like the traditional soft yellow lights.
