Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I’m a white light kinda gal! Just has a clean and classy look. And there’s nothing like white lights on a Christmas tree – it just makes things look magical.

    LAMP ME! I love the light from Christmas trees the most! White or color, doesn’t matter… but the bigger the tree the more I love it.

    LAMP ME!
    My favorite lights of Christmas are the white lights of the Christmas tree. My dad was always a colored-light guy and insisted on loading our tree down with colored blinking lights, but as an adult I find that way too busy and distracting. So, just simple white lights for me.

    LAMP ME! We have a tradition where we compete with my brother to see who can deck out the outside of their house the best and craziest. So, needless to say, we’re BIG fans of the outdoor decorations. It’s getting bigger and better every year! We’re getting close to being “that house” in town. ;o)

    Lamp me! As much as my husband would love for me to say the subtle glow of our Christmas tree, there’s nothing like driving through our town looking at Christmas lights :-)

    LAMP ME! My favorite holiday lights are the white ones on a tree (though my husband swears the colored ones are better) and in a garland on the fireplace mantle. Love the warm glow the white lights give off!

    LAMP ME! Although I live in an apartment so I have no overhangs for them, I love those icicle lights(I remember when they first came out thinking they were the most AMAZING thing ever and I really haven’t gotten tired of them – they are so pretty!).

    growing up, my grandparents lived in the country and always had a live christmas tree, cut from their land and it would be covered in silver tinsel and hundreds of those vintage bubble christmas lights. such a warm memory for me.

    LAMP ME! please! Love a combo of lights on the tree. We put white and color lights in different outlets on our tree. it gives us the option of having a colorful tree one day and a white tree another day….depending on our mood!

    Growing up I begged my Mom every year for colored bulbs on the tree and house and she always gave in (she wanted white)…now that I am older with kids, I LOVE the white twinkling lights on my tree and house (I get it, Mom!!) Just waiting for my kids to ask for the colored lights, now :)

    LAMP ME! I love Christmas tree twinkle lights…..on the tree, in tha staircase garland, in a big potted plant, tucked into cabinet top “scenes”. Lights make the mood in any season!
