Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    Lamp me! My family has been arranging white lights in a basket under red poinsettias since my childhood. Very pretty.

    LAMP ME! We leave our white Christmas candle lights on 24/7 and I love how they illuminate the inside of the house at night!

    Lamp me! My favorite holiday lights are those big old vintage bulbs — you know, the ones all our grandparents had. I get the warm fuzzies whenever I see some that have lasted all these years!
    P.S. Really crossing my fingers on this giveaway, as we are dying to replace our bedroom overhead light, and the one that’s been in my shopping cart for months is actually in your mood board!

    I love sitting in our living room with just the Christmas tree lights on. There is something romantic about the subtle glow of the white lights :)

    “LAMP ME!” I love the glow of the white xmas lights coming off the tree and fireplace mantle!! We just moved into a brand new house and need to replace the builder lights PRONTO. This would be awesome!

    I love the traditional white lights. Our house has white lights on wreaths in every window. It sits up on a hill off the street and I just love pulling up the driveway and seeing it all lit at night.

    This time of year, when all is dark and cold in Chicago, I love the glow of the white lights we have draped over the windows. Takes the edge off the sun setting at 4:00!

    LAMP ME…I actually like the big retro colored lights, but the hubbie is in charge of outside decorating so we stuck with all white this year. Maybe next year:)

    LAMP ME! Normally I like the simplicity of plain white lights, but we recently moved to a new city and they go all out with colorful lights on the buildings downtown. It’s like waterfalls of blues, purples, greens and golds coming down from the tops of the building faces. So beautiful!

    Lamp me! I love the old vintage bubble lights. My Grandmother used to have those on her tree every year, and now I have them on mine.

    LAMP ME!!
    The last few years I have been going all childhood nostalgic for the multi-color strings of lights.
    Also, I entered this because of the Jonathan Adler ceiling light on your lighting mash-up. That is has been in my shopping bag on LampsPlus forever, and I just can’t pull the trigger… $500 would definitely help w/ that. :-)

    I love white lights, but I have seen those vintage bubbling, candle lights popping back up, like at Target, those might be fun too.
