Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I like one candle in each window. This is our first Christmas in our new house, so we are finally able to decorate outside. We had a blast. Can’t wait to see what you guys have done outside this year.

    “Lamp Me!”, because my favorite christmas lights are often decorating the other people’s houses (maybe they’ve been plugging at it for years and I only started 2 years ago… :D ), so I’d like to have some cool ones of my own…!

    LAMP ME….I love the colorful lights draping over the mantle as well as covering the tree. I also love the simplicity of beautiful clear lights.

    Lamp me! I love big, gaudy, old school, colored lights. My husband likes small white lights. It’s kind of a problem… :)

    LAMP ME!

    I love the glow of Christmas tree lights. I used to be big on white lights, but when my daughter was tiny, we switched to colored lights and she would go around the tree and name the colors of all the bulbs. Now, with that sweet memory, I can’t bring myself to go back to white lights!

    I love the big colored bulbs that are on the tree in my front yard. There is something so classic about those big bulbs, they look great no matter how bad you may be at wrapping a tree :)

    LAMP ME!!!! I do love a fire in the fireplace, but I LOVE chilling in the living room with all the lights off except for the Christmas tree lights. So cozy.

    LAMP ME! I love christmas lights on the outside of the houses. I take my kids around the neighborhood in our car often around the holidays.

    LAMP ME! I know it’s not a holiday light, but I love the kitchen lights when we’re cooking as a family. Somehow it seems to glow in a sort of magical way when a special meal is being put together with mom during the holidays.
