Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I love white twinkle lights and but my hubs is partial to colored. One of these years he will be able to get his way on the tree!

    I used to love all white, but over the past few years have really come to appreciate mulit-color lights again. And the new “dripping” LED icicles are pretty cool, too. Have only seen those on one house so far….

    I love white twinkle lights…I especially love turning off all the lights in the house and sitting by the tree…we just need some snow!

    LAMP ME! I love the top part of our fake tree. It has a glitch in it, so every once in a while you can see it flick on and off. It’s kind of fun!

    LAMP ME! Being in a mixed household nothing says love and togetherness quite like the glimmer of our tiny apartment-sized Christmas tree next to our shiny lit menorah! But don’t worry, we don’t keep them TOO close. :)

    I absolutely adored those terrible, fake candles as a kid… the ones that “flicker” and have a AA battery living in their fake brass bases.

    LAMP ME!!! I love the big, old fashioned colored light bulbs strung up on a living pine tree outside. Says Christmas like nothing else!

    LAMP ME! I love our white lit Christmas tree, the garland on the edges of the cut outs on the wall (hard to explain but so dreamy!), and the fact that I live in a neighborhood where there are very few who don’t put up lights! I don’t care if they are multicolored or white, our neighborhood glows and I love it!

    LAMP ME!

    So, as I read what you wrote about holiday lighting, I was like, “Oh yeah, I love white lights on a Christmas tree,” and then I kept reading and was like, “Oh man, I totally love when a house is decked out like crazy outside,” and then I was all, “Oh man! I love fires! We should have a fire tonight!”
    So I guess I like it all.
