Fab Freebie: Christmas Lights

This week’s early Christmas present is going to… Nancy (who says she “could certainly use some new lighting” and her favorite holiday glow “has to be my fireplace.”) Congrats Nancy!

As much as we love holiday lights, indoor lighting is something that you stare at every day of the year. So if you don’t love your lighting situation, this is one way to “dude, get on that” without spending any cash. See, recently we were voted one of Lamps Plus’ top home blogs of 2012 (how flattering!) and it came with a $500 shopping spree prize… but you know we don’t take freebies or swag, so the folks at Lamps Plus kindly agreed that we could pass that $500 credit to one of you! We’ve been fans of theirs for a while now since they seem to have about a million options (their chandeliers even popped up in our book a few times) so this week’s winner should have no trouble finding something to spend their light-loot on if they win.

    LAMP ME! I love colored lights, but am so disappointed with the LED ones…it’s like their missing a good yellow or something, and look so cold and depressing to me!

    My favorite “holiday light” is the beautiful south Florida palm trees wrapped in string lights nearly everywhere :)

    Since we don’t have a fireplace, I usually settle for the glow of a single yummy-smelling candle on our kitchen table.

    I love the “light” that a fresh snow creates early in the morning before the sun comes out. When the snow covers everything outside it seems to make everything glow in the early morning hours… so pretty!

    I love the white and read lights on our tree, particularly on Christmas Even when the kids are sound asleep and Santa has made his visit. The calm before the storm, so to speak.

    Lamp Me! I like the simple white lights. There is a huge oak tree near my new house that must be wrapped in about a million lights (every single branch is wrapped) that is one of my favorite sights this holiday season.

    LAMP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I love the glow of a real fireplace, fire pit, whatever. I’m in Florida so it doesn’t ever get cold enough for real flames so I pine for them while the rest of your are snuggling up in front of the hearth.

    I can’t stop staring at my christmas tree (which is strung with multi-colored lights). Since I’m without a fireplace, I love the glow of having all my Christmas candles lit too!

    I love any holiday window lights that shine a little warmth out into the cold, dark night.

    I love the traditional colored bulbs that run along the perimeter and peaks of our house most. Second place goes to the white lights on the tree. Happy Holidays YHL!

    LAMP ME!

    My favorite lights are the ones in my kids’ room. They each have their own little trees sitting on their desks, one blue one red. They take such pride in decorating their trees that when they’re done, we sit snuggled up and tell our favorite Christmas memories with hot cocoa before we turn them off for the night. I love seeing them remember their favorite Christmas in the twinkle of their lights. :D
