Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!
One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.
- PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

Let’s Go Swimming! I mostly like to lounge and splash around. I can’t wait open up the pool in the backyard of our new home (we moved in just after the pool was closed up for Winter).

Let’s go swimming!
I swam competitively in high school and while I was in the best shape of my life, the sound of water going past my ears now makes me feel a little ill. So I prefer a floaty chair with a drink holder. Unless it’s open water swimming … which is always fun to play in the waves, snorkle, etc.

LETS GO SWIMMING!
I’m waiting for that first day of summer when I can dive into any body of water (lake, pool, ocean) and just stay under for those few quiet seconds before shooting up for air
Justine says
LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love the water, but usually only swim in the ocean. Which is too bad as I only live near the Oregon coast!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I love swimming, and used to outlast every kid at the pool in the apartment building, splashing around and swimming as if I were a mermaid. The Little Mermaid was a big part of my childhood :)
Kim says

I love the pool and I love to swim… If I could go back and be 8 years old again, swimming and playing mermaids, I think that would be awesome! And throw in a game of sharks in minnows in there too!

LET’S GO SWIMMING! Growing up in sunny phoenix, we lived in the pool. Swim team filled my summers, then synchronized swimming filled my teenage years (even went to nationals once) then coaching and teaching swim lesson were my summer jobs through college. Samantha’s art speaks to me for sure.

I’m an okay swimmer, but I pale in comparison to my younger sister, who swam competitively through college.
She once tried to teach me the butterfly on vacation at our resort’s pool and someone quite literally thought I was drowning.
Yes, it was THAT bad.

LET’S GO SWIMMING!
I love being in the water, particularly the cycle of swim, sit reading in the sun to dry, hop back in the water, sit in the sun, etc., that makes vacation swimming so awesome. In “real life” I hardly ever get to spend time in the water, though.
Meghan says

I LOVE the water! When I was 6 my parents bought a small cottage on a lake in Northern Michigan – and we spent almost every weekend each summer there learning to swim, and then learning to race, and then learning to dive, and then tube and water-ski, and, and, and! AND this year my fiance and I are getting married on that very same lake because my love of water runs so deep! :)
