Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!
One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.
- PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

LET’S GO SWIMMING!
I love to swim, but sadly, at forty-something, with an out-of-shape body, I find it very difficult to wear swimwear! :-)
Danielle says
LET’S GO SWIMMING! And yes, I love to swim… However, I do not like swimsuits!

I have a confession to make….I bought the 3 feet below print after I saw it on your blog. Yes, I COPIED off of you. My husband made fun of me. So did my mother. But I don’t care because I love the lady!

Let’s Go Swimming! I love splashing around at our neighborhood pool and hearing the squeels of delight as my kiddos dive in/under/through the water. The pool unleashes their imaginations — love it!!
Kara Murphy says
LET’S GO SWIMMING! I played 10 years of water polo so I’m definitely a swimmer. When I saw your post on that artwork I totally fell in love. They just capture that fresh, cool feeling of jumping in a pool. I put it on my wish list for later on but I’d love to win a gift card!

LET’S GO SWIMMING!
I love the water. I prefer a beach to a swimming pool, but here in landlocked Indiana, I’ll take what I can get.
MinnieK says
LET’S GO SWIMMING… I love to swim – ocean, pool, lake, stream, anywhere that appears to be safe! My mom made both my sister and I take swimming lessons almost every year from birth until 10 or 12, when there was essentially no more lessons to be taught (although I never did master the butterfly stroke). Anyway, I married a fellow water baby, who swims like a dolphin. Literally.. we live in Florida and he is a body surfer. Can’t wait for the ocean to warm up…

LETS GO SWIMMING
ok so as someone who was FORCED (yes forced) to take swimming lessons from about 7 – 15 years of age I’m not really a swim lover. Mostly it was just painful to have to jump into a super cold pool when you weren’t even that hot to begin with.
And seriously who takes swimming lessons for like 8 years? By the end of it I could do a perfect butterfly stroke – totally not necessary in learning how to swim so you won’t drown!!
If you can’t tell I’m a bit bitter about the whole swim lesson thing! ha. But at least I won’t drown now – even if I rarely ever swim as an adult. :)
Amanda says
Lets go swimming!! …or not. I’m terrified of water. Too many near misses as a kid that have stuck with me. Water wings for all! :)

LET’S GO SWIMMING!
I saw Ms. French’s work in a gallery in NYC and have been completely in love with her oil paintings ever since. My now deceased grandmother taught me to swim, when she herself had learned to swim (and drive) around age 50, as such activities weren’t as common/appropriate for women in the south in those days. Samantha French’s work reminds me of my grandmother, ever patient and encouraging, swimming with me in our backyard pool. It’s nostalgia at its best!

LET’S GO SWIMMING
(also, let’s try that again).
LOVE water, I grew up swimming in a lake, and although I prefer pools, a nice dip in a cool lake is the best in the summer

LET’S GO SWIMMING!
I am not a swimmer, but really wish I was :( There are a lot of awesome looking swimming holes in Vermont that I wish I were not terrified of. However, the past two summers I have forced myself into a bathing suit to bring my son (now 3) to Parent/Child swim lessons so he won’t be afraid like I am!
Monique says
LET’S GO SWIMMING!!
As a former synchronized swimmer, I lived in the water in my youth. I have loved Samantha’s art since I first saw it. It takes me back to the days where my biggest worry was remembering my routine or losing my nose clip in the water.

“LET’S GO SWIMMING!”
I live at the beach so we swim almost daily.
My youngest used to do back-flips off the diving board when he was just 18 months old!
Yep, we are a family of swimmers!

Lets go swimming!
I swam competitively from 2nd grade to 12th grade all year round. I love the water and think it’s so important for kids to be strong swimmers because it’s a dangerous place if you are not.
Tyan says
LET’S GO SWIMMING! It’s warm enough in Texas! Now I just need the tan to go with it. :)
Lizzy says
Let’s go swimming! Because it’s amazingly fun. I grew up going to the beach every single Sunday evening. Dad taught me to swim by myself (including diving in) by age 2, so being near the water and in the water is like home. It’s definitely a refuge for me. Love it!
Laura McNelly says
LET’S GO SWIMMING! I was a total water baby growing up, and now my 1.5 year old is the exact same way! Can’t keep him out of the water :)

LET’S GO SWIMMING! I used to be a very serious swimmer, but now it’s mostly poolside (or beachside) reading with cocktail in hand!

“LET’S GO SWIMMING!”
I prefer to be near natural water, floating above the water in a canoe, looking down through the water, watching the sunlight dance across and through the water.
karen Gibson says
LET’S GO SWIMMING. I love swimming. Growing up in Southern CA I used to swim every day– in fact, I’d sleep in my swim suit so that I could go first thing!!
