This giveaway can be summed up in two words (well, one’s technically just a letter): Z Gallerie.
The fine people at the big Z.G. have been very good to us (you may remember the kind birthday present they recently sent Sherry), and now they’re about to be very good to one of you. They’ve graciously offered up not one, not two, not even just three, but FOUR pieces of their collection to one lucky reader. And we can personally vouch for each item because (here’s our favorite part) they’re all accessories that we’ve purchased for our own home. Yep, consider it your own little Young House Love starter kit of sorts. It includes:
The Large Atlantis Clam Shell (which we use as a fruit bowl in our kitchen, priced at $45)…
…Sherry’s cherished white Ceramic Rhino (priced at $25)…
…and two, count ’em two, Lucerne Sconces (totalling $80):
That’s $150 worth of our favorite items from Z Gallerie. We had to buy ’em all (actually, I think every single one was a birthday present for Sherry at some point) but one of you is going to get them all on the house. To enter just comment on this post with the words “FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” by Wednesday, May 6th at 8pm EST. And while you’re there, we’d love to hear what you might consider a “signature item” in your home. Maybe something that you think is “so you” or that your friends would say is perfectly representative of your style. This giveaway is only open to US residents and only one entry per e-mail address is permitted. We’ll announce the randomly selected winner on Thursday. Good luck…
Oh, and is anyone surprised that all of the items are white? Didn’t think so…

I love these items. Our signature items are a typical russian-style rug to reflect our heritage and a tapestry of the world the way it was thought of a hundred years ago by historians to reflect our constant curiosity and love of travel!

My signature house item is my dining room table. It’s little contemporary, yet little traditional – honey in color, and solid as a rock. I will never get rid of it. It will be with us for a life time.

I love the clam shell fruit bowl! I think I’m going to have to find a Z gallerie and buy one soon…
I would say the “signature item” in our home is my table – it is drop-leaf and has additional leaves so it can seat from 2 to 12 people, it’s either Duncan Phyffe or a very good reproduction but I got it off craigslist so it was the perfect mix of super-cheap price and quality materials, and the dark wood and classic lines go with just about anything.
Heather says
“From your house to mine!” I don’t really know what exactly would be my signature item, but I do know that I love my rustic farmhouse dining table and chairs that I got for a steal off of craigslist! Most people that come in to the house say they feel very comfortable and most like how I designed the rooms.

My signature item would have to be the very first brand new piece of furniture that I bought, a distressed black armoire. I am sure to make it work, not matter how I switch up my decor…..I just love it!

The signature item in our house is this ceramic African sculpture of, what we affectionately call, “Thinking Man”. We got him at a yard sale 17 years ago as a kitschy funky thing for our first apartment. He’s been in every apartment and house with us and we *heart* him. I couldn’t bear to get rid of him now. He just seems to go with every style/decor we put him in.

here’s to hoping! my signature items are either all my artwork (as in, paintings that i made – think jackson pollack with lots of colors or a small child with lots of bright paint) or my red kitchen (red kitchenaide, plates, bowls, mugs, hand towels, aprons, oven mitts, mixing bowls, trivet, etc).

I guess that the signature piece in my house would have to be the big blue print I have framed on the wall. It’s a blue print that my grandpa made of an extremely intricate play house labeled “Tanya and Little Baby’s House.” (I’m the little baby, I was still in the womb at the time!)
I’d say it’s a signature piece because it’s everything I love in a piece of artwork: it’s large, it’s pretty, and it’s uniquely personal. I love having something that reminds me of my grandpa hanging on my wall.
Kathleen says
From your house to mine! The clam shell would become my new favorite signature piece.

From your house to mine…our signature item in our house would have to be the seashell picture frame my husband made me for Valentine’s Day a few months after we got married. He used the shells we collected on Sanibel Island on our honeymoon to make a frame for a self-portrait we shot on the same beach during a sunset. I think it is one of my favorite home accessories.
Jamie says
“FROM YOUR HOUSE TO MINE!” our signature piece would have to be a rustic wood wine bar we found on craigslist!

What a great giveaway! My signature items are books. I love books, as everyone who knows me knows. I find that done right, having books around make a place feel lived in. You can tell a lot about a person by their library.
