Fab Freebie: Gone Fishing

Our two lucky winners as selected by random.org are… Susie (who doesn’t like fish, despite her former employment at Red Lobster) and Sarah (who especially loves Maryland crab, shrimp, salmon, and freshly caught smoked trout). Congrats ladies!

Back when I lived in Brooklyn there was this cool dishware store down the street called Fishs Eddy that I loved. Last Christmas I even bought Sherry two coffee mugs from there. And now, in what can only be called a full circle moment, we’re teaming up with them for a giveaway for you guys. They’ve got tons of fun colorful patterns so we’ve put together three around-$50 prize packages of our favorites: the Food Bank pattern (which benefits the NYC Food Bank), the always-classic 212 New York Skyline pattern, and the playful Charley Harper pattern. So each of our TWO winners will get to pick their favorite collection and take it home.

    FISH ME!!!

    I cannot eat crabcakes anymore… A few years back after a scrumptuous meal of a steak filet, mash potatoes and a crabcake side, I woke up with the flu the next morning and proceeded to throw up my dinner from the night before…and can still remember the horrible taste of the crabcake coming out. EWWW! I still get chills and throw up a little when I think about the taste. :(

    FISH ME! Adore big ol’ fried shrimp & crab cakes prepared in favorite restaurants!! At home, I like to bake-broil wild Alaskan salmon bathed in extra-virgin olive oil/lemon/onion/garlic cloves/cayenne pepper/sea salt & a bunch of tasty, organic herbs (cause it’s super easy & no-fail…Ha).

    Fish me! My boyfriend is a fisherman and it is our favorite thing to do on our free time (what little we have together)!! All three of these are great!<3

    FISH ME! I actually do not like seafood with the exception of a couple of sushi rolls (weird, I know). My husband loves it though, so I should probably make it more often.

    FISH ME! I love seafood, but there some bottom dwellers and fish that I will not eat. I am all about sustainable agriculture, and aquaculture. There are some fish/seafood which we are overfishing and will make extinct shortly (do you remember orange roughy? Totally overfished). Everytime I am at the supermarket, or at a restaurant, I carry my seafood guide with me. For me, I don’t feel right not knowing that what I am eating may be causing the oceans to become depleted and barren.     FISH ME! I am so-so with fish… I stick to shrimp, salmon, and white fish, and don’t get too adventurous (unlike my dad, whose idea of a good Christmas stocking stuffer is a can of sardines or oysters… blegh!)

    FISH ME!
    I guess I’m a “pescatarian”. Fish is the only animal flesh that I will eat. And I love all of it, especially shellfish, especially lobstah!

    PS – Fishs Eddy is one of my faves in NYC – I try to fit something potentially breakable from there in my luggage whenever I can!

    I’m a non-fish eating vegetarian. I just don’t like the taste.

    The contest is super-cool though because my sister and her fiance just moved from Denver to Brooklyn! I’d love to give them a housewarming gift that has a special connection to their new neighborhood.

    I like shellfish but I can’t seem to get salmon or other fish down (unless it’s battered with a side of chips :) )

    Well, being the very picky eater that I am, I’m not too fond of seafood. Although to be honest, I really haven’t tried all of it either. I guess I should get out there and try some more fish to see if I dig it or not :)

    I’m a big fan of seafood! Minus a few strange dishes I tried in Asia, I’ll pass on eating bite-sized whole fish. No thank you!

    Fish me! For me, it all depends on the type of fish. When it’s fresh though, I will almost always have fish.

    FISH ME!
    I’m a huge seafood fan. I always feel good after I eat it, like I got protein but not weighed down. Unless I ate lobster smothered in butter. In that case I feel happy, but not healthy. I make a super simple broiled salmon topped with spices that’s delicious!

    Fish Me!!!

    I wouldn’t consider myself a seafood lover, however I do love shrimp (Louisiana style), salmon on the grill, and crab cakes…to name a few :)
