We’re back with another fantastic prize that THREE lucky winners will be able to put their names on. This one comes from Customized Stationary, a fun little Etsy shop that features playfully designed cards and prints that you can customize with everything from your first name to your family name. And they’ve kindly put together three sweet sets for our winners to choose from (each which includes a print and set of coordinating notecards) that we were so enamored with we couldn’t help but snag a set for ourselves.
We had trouble picking, but ended up going with the Carved Tree set, which we got to customize not only with our name and our initials carved into the tree, but also with our choice of colors. That way we ended up with a perfect-for-us set of stationary that was almost too good lookin’ to unwrap.
Want a chance to customize your own set? Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: 8×10″ print and coordinating twelve pack of 4 x 5.25 notecards in your selected design (Bird Family, Carved Tree or Stump). It’s a $27 value, but stay tuned for a YHL special discount at the end of the contest on Thursday.
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CUSTOMIZE ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about one of the last handwritten letters your sent (or received). Seems to be a dying custom in the digital age, so what was memorable about a recent time you used snail mail to send something special?
- CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 2nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
- PRIZE SHIPS: USA Only
- THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I always send thank you notes and holiday cards to friends and family. The last note I mailed was last week and it was a congratulations card for a friend who just moved into their new home. The stationary you are giving away is beautiful.

My fiance and I are desperately trying to finish up our shower thank you notes before our wedding in three weeks. We are making a point to write a special note to each person since they took the time to get something special just for us. Other than that, my handwritten correspondence is usually limited to birthday cards and holiday notes. I miss getting real letters from my friends but I have to admit I’m much more consistent in using e-mail to keep in touch.

I LOVE stationary. I used to basically collect it and I used to write letters ALL the time. I don’t write nearly as often, but I do send cards frequently (birthday, anniversary, or just because).
Have you ever heard of Gwen Frostic? It’s a small print shop in northern Michigan. Gwen was an artist and a poet and had her stationary company, and when she died her family kept it going. It’s my favorite stuff. Great prints to frame. Check it out at: http://www.gwenfrostic.com/

CUSTOMIZE ME…..My friend/interior designer recently sent me a special heartfelt note for passing the CPA exam. She is fabulous in every way and never seizes to amaze me with her thoughtfulness. If I win these notecards, maybe I could actually send her a note rather than an email or text.

I love the Bird Family! I wrote letters to my husband while he was in Iraq, and now while he’s in Kuwait. He’ll be home next Wednesday after a year away from my daughter and I!

The last snail mail item that was sent by me was three years ago on a road trip in the Pacific Northwest. I sent postcards to friends, fam and to my husband and myself to document the trip. I used to write letters quite a bit, but now I am just lame at writing.

I believe that certain things should not be communicated via email alone. Like “Happy Birthday” or “I love you truly” or “thank you!” So I love to write letters or cards for those specific occasions…especially thank you notes. My parents always made me write them when I was little, and now that I’m older, I really enjoy writing them. I love to personalize and add pizzazz to the letter with a beautiful stamp and some pretty stickers (they’re not just for kids anymore!). I love receiving snail mail myself, and I think that’s why I love doing that for others.

I love sending letters and cards to friends. I tend to write letters more than e-mails which is a bit rare. I actually wrote a card to a college friend today. The one thing I always include are stickers on the envelope!

For my little sister’s college graduation in April, I bought her cute stationary, and used some of my old stuff, and wrote her a note that I slipped into her card detailing how proud of her I was, reminisced some old stories, etc. A few weeks later she wrote me a note on her new stationary!

I just sent thank yous out for my baby shower, and am a huge stationery freak. I can spend hours in a stationer’s store. I just went through all my notes, though! I’m due for some new. I love sending notes – so nice to get in the midst of all the bills and junk people get.

One of my husband’s grandmother’s love send us letters and cards for any and everything she can. So we do our best to send one back to her occasionally and she just absolutely loves it.
I have to admit – it’s so nice to get something OTHER than bills and junk in the mail every now and then.

I work in property management at a very large apartment complex, and you can imagine how many emails, calls, and stop-in’s i get from people who want to complain! But i recently got a very sweet hand written note from a resident, thanking me for helping her with something. It was a welcome surprise, and reminded me how nice it is to get something other than email!

The last note I wrote was for no special occasion at all–a sweet little card tucked into my husband’s bag just as a small reminder that I was thinking of him. In an age of email and cell phones, nothing is better than a thoughtful handwritten message on some beautiful stationery!

“CUSTOMIZE ME”. This isn’t the last handwritten note that I wrote or received but when I was a freshman in college (living 9 states awayfrom my mother) we would write back & forth to each other. Sure, we talked on the phone but there was something so comforting to see her handwritting on an envelope in the mailbox at school.

A dear friend and I have sons the same age who grew up together and her son died this past spring. I know that there isn’t a card made that can come close to what I want to say so I write her hand written notes about every 4 – 6 weeks just to let her know that I remember. I always use a very special and pretty blank note card.

My mom always taught me the value of a hand-written card and now I love making my own using photos that I have taken on various trips, framing them on top of a piece of construction paper and making it into a card. It is a great inexpensive way to try to make someone’s day!
