Fab Freebie: Home For Z Holidays

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:

Z Gallerie Holiday Prizes

The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).

Z Gallerie Our House

So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:

  • PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Z ME!! I do not love to host, however, I love to cook. I just take four or five dishes of home-cooked goodies everywhere we go!!

Z ME!! This year, home renovations and family illness made for a quiet Thanksgiving–just my husband and I and a small turkey (probably the last one for a while since we’re expecting in March!) and it was lovely. But I am definitely excited for Christmas with a household of family in a few short weeks!

ZME!! I love to entertain…a small group of friends and family – not a houseful. For the holidays, we will be both entertaining and entertained. My husband’s family celebrates at my Inlaw’s home, and my family celebrates on a different day at our house. Its going to be a huge dinner buffet at my house – we all bring our family specialties and share – and we make a couple of my dad’s favorite dishes to honor him – he passed away late last fall, so we like to include him in our holiday get togethers.

I love hosting, but that will have to wait until next year. I am getting married in May and purchased a house this past March, so right now my kitchen is filled with hand-me-down or dollar store gadgets. I can’t wait until my wedding showers begin so I can switch them out for nicer items! These holiday decorations would be great!

I love hosting parties at my house! Every year we have a secret santa party that creates lots of holiday memories! My friend hat an “Ugly Sweater” party last year…I was thinking of hosting my own this year! :)

Love the blog! Keep up the great work!

We’ll be going home for the holidays, splitting up the day between mine and the husbands parents. But even though I’m not specifically entertaining, I still love setting the table at my mom’s house for Christmas dinner with all her good china and silverware… I’m a big dork at heart when it comes to traditional things like that :)

We are hosting everyone in our fam. this year for the first time and couldn’t be more thrilled! One of our favorite things to do when hosting people is to have some of their favorite things. This may sound silly, but we always keep Cream of Wheat, along with my grandmother’s favorite hot tea and my grandfather’s fav. coffee syrup, and at least one treat for when they stay with us. It not only sets them at ease with a familiar favorite, but shows them how much we care about making things special for them. :)

Z ME!!! We just hosted 11 people for Thanksgiving, and my in-laws are coming back for a week at Christmas… two things I’ve learned to do as a hostess:

    1) Make a quick list of tasks people can help you with. Be it folding napkins, washing silverware, etc. – most guests will ask what they can help with, and if you say “nothing” they’ll just keep asking!

    2) Find out what kind of cereal people like. It’s very comforting as a houseguest to start out your day with something familiar :)

We like to tell our guests to bring their favorite christmas cocktail recipe along with the stuff to make it. Z Me!!! My husband’s 30th birthday is Dec. 8th, so I will be throwing a not-so-holiday birthday party for 40+ guests. My dilemma: how to make it more a birthday party and not a holiday party on Dec. 12th!

Another party I will be hosting for my girlfriends: a gift wrapping party. Everyone brings their gifts and we all get together and wrap! I supply A LOT of the supplies (and the wine & snacks) and it makes wrapping gifts a whole lot more fun!

At Christmas time, we host and go to other’s homes throughout the season. The best advice is to keep it simple – people will remember a stressed hostess and feel bad about that!
