Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:
The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).
So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:
- PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I love to entertain! This is the first Christmas since I lost my Mom so I am switching up the traditions and inviting everyone to my and my fiance’s house for Christmas Day night. We’re having a pot luck filled with fun and a secret Santa gift exchange! I’m really looking forward to it!

Z ME!! I love to host parties at my home especially at Christmas time. I love the gathering of friends around our very large kitchen island stuffing our faces full of wonderful food. Does it get better than that?

We always go to our parents houses for the holidays. I love being a helper, especially at my parents’ house.

We made the mistake of telling our families that if we were in a house by Christmas, then we’d host. Gahh! I like to make sure that everyone has something that fits in with their idea of Christmas. My family always has Turkey, but my husband’s family doesn’t like turkey and barely tolerates it at Thanksgiving, so we’re going to have both turkey and ham! Yum!
And one way to be a courteous guest – offer to help with the dishes :)

We are hosting Christmas dinner this year as newlyweds in our first/new house. I love to host to justify buying new/cute serveware and decorations but it’s so much prep and clean-up work!

We’re going home to my parents place for the holidays.
I hosted Thanksgiving this year for the first time and everything went very smoothly because I had a very detailed timeline of when things needed to be in the oven, so everything made it to the table warm.

Z ME!! I just hosted Thanksgiving, so I’m off the hook for Christmas – Maybe next year my family will switch it up! Just went to a Z Gallerie store while on vacation(since there isn’t one in my home state), and I LOVED it!!
Renae says
Z Me! I prefer to be entertained and will spend the holidays at my parents and my in-law’s…per usual. Our house is too small for my hooligans PLUS guests. So yep, it’s over the river and through the woods for us!

The first time I stepped foot in a Z Gallerie store I almost died. It was AMAZING! I was so happy to have one nearby even before we bought our home, but unfortunately that branch closed down :-(
This holiday season my boyfriend and I will spend Christmas with our families… we may own our own house, but my mom already declared that if I don’t wake up at her house on Christmas morning all our gifts will be taken away haha.
As for entertaining, my best tip is to make sure you have a few candles lit to set the mood and ALWAYS have music playing to drown out any silence!

We’ll be entertaining this year in our 2nd Christmas in our new home!! Tip? Smile. Just keep smiling. Even when you’re standing in the room with this group of people to whom you KNOW you’re related, but can’t actually determine HOW it happened. ;0)

I would love to entertain, but have a very small apartment! My mother’s biggest rule for entertaining is have too much food and never get drunk at your own party!

I hosted Christmas Eve dinner last year for the first time and it was so much fun! I love but I do tend to stress out when I play hostess.

Z Me! We host parties as well as go to others. While I love to go to other homes for fun and food, I truly love to have folks to our home. I love, love doing all the prep work and all the cooking. My largest crowd was an open house for close to 200 folks! I was worn out after cooking for that one but it was a great time. Love these items from one of my favorite stores, Z Gallerie!

We just hosted Thanksgiving at our house for 17 people after only having been in our new house 4 months…it was a challenge getting the house together for all our company, but I loved it! I love it when the house is just bustling over with people!

Z Me! We hosted Thanksgiving at our house, and (because J works on Christmas) our guests have invited me over for Christmas. It’s great to be surrounded by friends when you’re not able to be with your significant other. My best advice– be courteous and show up when you said you would. The hosts may have planned dinner for a certain time based on when you said you’d be there, so don’t show up two hours later! And, don’t show up empty-handed! Ask in advance if you can bring anything. If they say no, then bring flowers and some wine or beer.

I’m actually hosting Christmas dinner at my house this year (I just bought it in October, so this is a really big deal for me). And as I’m starting out, I can use all the Christmas decorating help I can get!

We hosted for the first time ever on Thanksgiving (married for a year, in our first house for a few months), so we’ll be traveling away from home for Christmas. As a helpful guest, I like to help clean up after a meal so the host can go take a load off…

I don’t think we could fit more than just the two of us in our 600 sq. ft. apartment so we’re crashing our parents and grandparents homes! Might change once we have enough space to hold everyone.

I had family over this past weekend. It was our Saturday wrap-up dinner with the out-of-town family. I also plan on entertaining my in-laws on Christmas Eve. Also, maybe, just maybe I might throw a New Years Eve party. Maybe!

I’m stuck at the airport right now, trying to get back home from a long Thanksgiving weekend and of course I NEEDED to check YHL!
My husband and I just got married this summer so we’re making the rounds this Holiday season. We love to present our hosts with tins of candy that we whip up in our kitchen. This year we made Peppermint Bark and wrapped it with a huge bow and ornament for that extra touch. It’s a great gift because it allows us to share our candy making stories with the new in-laws while giving them a quick treat they can have on hand for all the other guests that follow.

I often enjoy celebrating the holidays at other people’s homes because I’m not very confident when it comes to cooking the big meal, but I will enjoy Christmas with my parents this year because it will be my last year at home with them!

We celebrate Christmas at my parents’ house or at my in-laws’ in Tennessee each year, but my husband and I just moved into our brand new house over the weekend, so I look forward to beginning to host friends and family as soon as we are unpacked and decorated!

I love entertaining, but will not be doing so this year. My husband and I are going to visit family in Michigan and will be entertained by our families. I always love to give a little something to the host/hostess to show them our appreciation for having us (even if it’s my mom).

We’ll have at least one party at our home, but since my husband is a youth minister it will all be teenagers. :) They don’t worry too much about how things look as long as we have plenty of snacks.

We love to entertain, especially around the holidays! One of my favorite things to do is carry out a theme each year..this year I’ll be doing silver and white. I already have our 2 trees up with silver and white decorations and on Christmas day I love to have the table set complete with a festive silver and white centerpiece, pretty napkins, coordinating hand-made placecards and a signature drink!

I usually prefer to be a guest – much less stressful! Always offer to bring something to a party. If the hostess says she doesn’t need anything, bring a bottle of wine or flowers. If you’re staying overnight, ALWAYS clean up after yourself (including your dishes unless the hostess insists otherwise). Being courteous will ensure you’re invited again!

I do LOVE to entertain at my house but we had THREE thanksgivings at my house this year so I don’t think I could handle Christmas too. We are FOR SURE going elsewhere this season!
My best entertaining tip is simple: plenty of seating and plenty of FOOD!
Erica says
Z ME!! I’d rather go to someone else’s this year. I’m in the middle of moving to my first house and my parents are starting their renovation. So anywhere but here sounds good.
