Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:
The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).
So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:
- PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. My husband and I have families that are too large for our house to entertain all at once. It is actually easier for me to travel to two places in one night than to fit everyone in my small square footage…
A tip that I think everyone whether entertaining or not could utilize is to be open minded about other people’s customs or family traditions. My husband sometimes feels like an outsider when attending my family’s traditional Cuban holiday celebration so I try make him feel more at home by speaking in English instead of Spanish to relatives which catches on and then soon everyone is speaking in English and he has a better idea of what is going on :) I also try to explain the traditions and the origins just to clue him in. He comes from a family that doesn’t really have any traditions or customs so he is a good sport when attending my crazy family holidays.

Z ME! I’ll be entertaining family on Christmas Eve. My tip: In all the planning, be sure to include some down time for yourself to enjoy the season and to remember what it’s all about.

The best way to be a gracious hostess or courteous host is to enjoy the time you have with friends or family. And to be in that moment.

We lack furniture and cooking skills in our household so we won’t host this year…but hopefully next year.
My only tip for hosting is to have great music playing all night long!!!

I had Thanksgiving at my house. It’s my first home and my first holiday – it went very well, but I had lots of help. I like hosting, because I am a homebody at heart.

I don’t have the room to entertain, so I’m a designated entertainee at other people’s homes. My piece of advice is to never to complain! Seriously, complainers ruin parties!!!! Don’t do it.

I will be going elsewhere for the holidays seeing as how I live in a one bedroom apartment :-) Thanks for the giveaway, you guys are an inspiration (I just changed my major to interior design and could not be more excited)!

We will be at the P’s in Montana. Music and lighting are always crucial when hosting. You get those right, people don’t notice much else.

Even though I love to entertain, we’ll be visiting several friends and family members this holiday. As a guest, I try to help clean up and bring a hostess gift!

We will probably not entertain this year. Instead we will split our time with both of our families. As for being a good guest, we always try to take something delicious with us, and a nice bottle of vino or champagne to share.
I love your blog and your giveaways. :-)

I’m hosting Christmas this year when I’ll be 36 weeks pregnant. I’ve already got the tree up and gifts wrapped. I just wish I had more Christmas decor besides the tree and my husband’s outdoor lights.

Z ME! We’re having a small Secret Santa Party this year. We decided to downgrade from 20 guests to 6, since last year we were packed in like sardines with no room to mingle! So I guess my hostess advice would be to not invite too many people…. although my husband’s advice is to “be chivalrous….”

First of all, I love that mercury glass is so popular this holiday season. I truly enjoy entertaining and making guests feel welcome in my home. I also enjoy getting that same feeling when I am invited over to a friend’s house.

I love to host people at our home. Our families live pretty far away (with us in Florida and them in Michigan and Ohio), so we usually come to them for the holidays, but this year my baby sister will be coming to visit with us, so I’m excited to host a small Christmas gathering while she is here! :o)

I love being a guest for the obvious reason of less prep and less clean-up. BUT I am very excited to do some entertaining in my brand new place this year!
That being said, I think the key to being a great host AND a great guest lies in food. If you’re a host, have enough food! If you’re a guest, bring something special! And as a hostess who hates the clean-up, I always try to be the guest who does her share of it.
