Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:
The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).
So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:
- PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Z ME! My family still hasn’t made firm Christmas plans yet (so typical). I love being a guest at my parents’ house, because everything is so laid-back. Even non-family members who have stayed with us comment on how they feel like they can just dive into the fridge and make themselves at home. And my parents love it because they don’t have to worry about constantly making sure everyone is comfortable!

I plan to be hosted and then host! Every year we go to my parent’s house on Christmas Eve and do pretty much nothing on Christmas Day. This year, though, we have a little one of our own and I want to start my own traditions. I’m either doing a big breakfast for anyone who wants to come or a lunch. Have to decide soon so I can plan the meal!

We’re heading to my parents house in Connecticut (we live in Indiana) for the holidays this year. Our daughter is 6 months old, so this will be her first Christmas! We’re super excited to spend the time with family (all of my siblings will be there too!).
Merry, Merry to you and yours!

We just had my husband’s family over for Thanksgiving, so I am really excited to head down to Texas for Christmas. We just moved to IL from the south and it’s freeeezing.

Z ME! Z ME!! Since we’re living with my in-laws while our house is being built, we will be celebrating at their home. I am going to be helping with cooking and decorating!

We are entertaining on Christmas Eve and trying a new standing rib roast recipe. I plan on premaking everything the day before so I can relax the day of. Great tip: I make a hot apple cider with mulling spices on the stove and greet guests with a hot cup as they enter. And it makes the whole house smell great!

Z ME! No, really, Z ME! As parents of two young believers, we have decided that we will NOT be leaving our home on Christmas this year and will instead be hosting my family at our house. I’m looking forward to starting new traditions for our kids at their home.

Z ME!! I plan to be entertained at parent’s houses this year. We usually bring a hostess gift, and help clean to after dinner. Great giveway!

Z Me! Z Me! My husband and I love Z Gallerie so much that he proposed there! =)
As a houseguest I try to carry my weight! Help with dinner, dishes, etc.

Being entertained is so relaxing, so I love to provide that relaxation and enjoyment for others. We have large families, so we will do some entertained (our neighbor is a Southern Belle who happens to be widowed, so she loves to spend time with our family, and some other friends/family will also attend.) We’ll also attend a number of family/work parties extending deep into January! I think a nice gesture as host is to include guests in the final preparations, “Will you taste this and see if I need to add anything.” They feel important, and it is nice to get a feel for their tastes. As a guest, I think it is nice to give a gift that can both be consumed as well as kept (the wine bottle wrapped in a nice kitchen towel, or the dessert on the platter which is left behind as a gift).

We recently moved into a new home and are hosting the big family gathering on Christmas Eve. Our current holiday decor just isn’t cutting it in the new place. These will go a long way to helping out.

We’re having my sister-in-law, her husband and their 3-year-old daughter over for a week during the holidays. My only plan for staying sane is pre-planning as much as possible, and giving them as much of their own space as we can in our little house. I’m also planning to let my husband do most of the entertaining during the day so I can “escape” at work!

We are all about being entertained! haha I had a crazy idea this year about having people over since we have a baby in the house and might not want to drag him around in the snow (we’re up in Western NY), but when the thoughts of cleaning, cooking, and more cleaning entered my mind, I quickly accepted my in-laws invitation to come there! :)

Z me! What a great giveaway. We’re going to my family’s house in St. Louis – the first time my husband will spend Christmas with my side of the family in the 4 years we’ve been married! I think the key to being a good guest is to fall easily into the traditions and style of whomever you’re visiting. It makes holidays more fun to celebrate in different ways.
Marcy says
Z-ME! We usually celebrate for like 4 days so we see all the sides of our family. Can’t wait for Christmas!

Z ME!!!! I plan on going to families houses this season. I always love to bring a dessert to our parties on a nice dish to give to the hostess!

Z ME! I wanted to change things up this year so I plan on being entertained this year! I’m still going to make the house all Christmas-sy because it’s my absolute favorite time of the year!!

I love having people over for the holidays! Good food is the key (nothing stuffy- just plentiful and delicious).
Lucy says
Z ME! I definitely like to be entertained, but also like to do my fair share of the entertaining. I think a balance is great. Plus, when I entertain, it forces me to really deep-down clean every nook & cranny moreso than I would normally. ;-)

My husband and I will be with his family in NY and CT this year. We were recently married, and this is my first year away from my family!
We stock up on a few bottles of nice wine before the holiday season so we always have something to bring to holiday parties. Making one trip in November to grab several bottles of wine helps avoid rushing into a store on the way to a party (when there’s a good chance we’re already running late!)
Hilary Taylor says
Z ME!! The hurricane and voitive holders would look great as part of my Christmas dinner centerpiece!
This year my husband and I will be hosting Christmas at our home for the first time. I love to entertain and I’m currently making a list of all the items I want to have on hand to make my guests’ stay as fun and comfortable as possible: holiday cookies, festive beverages, great snacks, and a fun Christmas dinner menu. My top hostess with the mostess pointer: take time to enjoy your party. Your guests will have much more fun if you don’t spend the whole time working in the kitchen.
Karin says
Z ME…We love to be with our families either way.

Z Me! I plan to do both! We always go to my sister’s for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. She has three little girls so we have passed on the tradition of sleeping together and waiting for Santa to come in the morning to wake us all up. We all sleep together in one room and around 6am we hear the ho-ho-ho’s and the jingle of the bells. We wait for Santa to leave, get up and open presents and then snack on a wonderful brunch buffet.

My fiance and I will be heading to three houses for Christmas Eve and then Christmas day! No hosting for us this year but perhaps next year when we celebrate our first Christmas as a married couple :) I do always try to bring something so I feel like I’m contributing a little.
Katie says
Z ME! I plan on entertaining this year for Christmas and actually prefer to, but only if my guests are behaving themselves! Haha!
We just hosted Thanksgiving and had some not so well behaved guests so I think to be a good guest you should always offer to help clean up around meal time, pick up after yourself, and be respectful of your hosts. A recent guest of mine wouldn’t put any of his dishes in the dishwasher, wouldn’t use a coaster on our dining room table, spilled stuff and wouldn’t wipe it up, and kept the bathroom and bedroom a disaster.

Z Me! I love Mercury Glass!

I plan to do a bit of both entertaining and being entertained. Mostly the latter at the moment as my apartment is awkward and the kitchen and living room are on complete opposite sides in the layout–makes for very awkward gatherings.

We entertained family for Thanksgiving this year, and it was a lot of work. I think part of being a good guest, is treading lightly and being polite.

My husband and I plan on doing a little of both.
When beinga guest I always offer to bring a dish or dessert and always help clean up after the dinner.
When being a host I always make sure there are plenty of appetizers and snacks out, because you never know when people are going to show up or leave, and I think it’s nice to have a variety of food.
Sarah says
Z ME! We do a lot of traveling to multiple family Christmas parties over the holiday so there’s not much time left for entertaining at our house. But, we love to decorate our home for the season even if it’s only just for us.

We’ve got lots of not too formal parties planned and since we can’t afford a bottle of wine for each host, I was soo thrilled to find Evian glass bottles with beautiful Christmas decor on it – for $1!! Will make beautiful SIMPLE centerpieces after.

Z ME! We always go away for the holidays to either my parents’ houses or my in-laws because with just the two of us it’s easy to travel. But, the one year we lived in VA and had the holidays on our own with a few friends who were in town I loved them and look forward to hosting holidays sometime in the future.

I love to go visit other people but I would like to entertain too. I dream of having a big gathering but our apt. is much too small to entertain. I love to bake but our oven is on the fritz. This holiday season I’m hoping our wonderful friends will throw some fun bashes with home made goodies so I can have my cake and eat it too!
