Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:
The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).
So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:
- PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Now that we’ve made room for a new dining room table and a big ol’ tree, we are probably having guests over at least once during the holidays…so this freebie would be great!

Yes, crazy me! I invited my in-laws over for Christmas Day! It wasn’t my idea. I can’t say no to anybody, I guess. I have a lot of decorating to do in the next three weeks. Now if I could just find (win) something with a little SPARKLE to use as a centerpiece for table… :)

My plans to entertain at home this year depend on whether or not my husband and I finish our basement in time to entertain people! We don’t have a ton of room in our living/dining areas, so having people over gets pretty cramped. However, we have a large space in the basement that we are working on converting into a lounge zone. We’re hoping things come together in the next few weeks!

I love to entertain, both casual and formal. And I love Mercury glass!

Z Me!!! I am a newleywed as well, and my husband and I are having the best time decorating our first house together for the holidays! These pieces would be the perfect addition to display at our next get together! I think bringing homemade treats is a great and economical way to extend thanks to hosts/hostess, coworkers, etc! wine always works too ;)
I am a friend of Bethany and Blakes, who YHL did a room makeover consulation for. I recently attended a party which was held in this repurposed room, and it was fabulous! She also told me about your web site which I now frequent!
Sara says
“Z me!” These are gorgeous!
No entertaining this year, but lots of traveling and attending other parties.

We’ll be traveling this year so we won’t be hosting. Baby will meet some of his relatives for the first time! My mom always told me never to arrive empty-handed. I’ll be stocking up on little gifts (probably chocolate) to take with us.

I much prefer to host — it’s easier to not have to worry about driving home after all the wine I tend to ingest when holiday party-hopping!
Beverly Lynn says
Z ME! We bought our first house this past spring and this Christmas we are having as much family over to celebrate as possible! Can’t wait, it’s going to be a blast!

Our house is TINY, so we usually only host one or two people at a time, and frequently go elsewhere. If you’re a guest, ALWAYS ask if you can bring something, even if you secretly hope they’ll say no. Even asking can help ease the stress. :-)

Z me! we’ll be traveling guests – love being a guest!

I love entertaining…but prefer a mix of my putting on the parties and attending someone else’s. Clean-up is not my favorite thing.
This week, I’m going to a party with a White Elephant gift exchange that has a jewelry theme…so everyone brings something jewelry-related with a value of $25 to exchange. Can’t wait!
In other news…Z Me! please! I love those holiday items.

We won’t be hosting any holiday parties, but we’ll be attending lots of them. A great tip: Be on time and bring a creative hostess gift (hand embroidered dish towel, homemade ornament, etc.).

Hosting on Christmas eve. I think the key to being a good host is to plan ahead and think of what your guests would like, but don’t be a stress ball the day of. If you’re no fun, no one is going to enjoy themselves no matter how great the food is or how perfect the decorations look. Ask for help and don’t work yourself into a frenzy over THINGS. Focus on the people!
Kristi says
Z Me! They’re beautiful! I love to both entertain and be entertained. Now only if my friends enjoyed entertaining, too… :)
Jenny says
Z me! We’ll be flying from AZ to visit my fiance’s parents in OH, and my parents will be driving over from CT – so it’ll be our first Christmas together! I never like to go anywhere empty handed, but since we’ll be staying there for a week, I’ll probably help make cookies and food and waffles (his grandpa insists that I’m the only one who makes the waffles correctly, so I’m happy to oblige!).

I just entertained twice in the last week. Once for my dad’s birthday (and thanks to you guys I had an awesome table set with things I already had, complete with wine cork place cards!) and second for a fun girl’s night jewelry party!
As far as the Holiday parties go I’m having 2! One for my employees (ugly Christmas Sweaters here we come!) and one for some old church camp girl friends!
I think it’s nice to at least offer to help the hostess with something or bring them wine, flowers, a scented candle something to show your appreciation…we all know how much work goes into just getting your house clean for a party, much less food and drinks!
Struggler says
Go on then, Z Me too :)
We will be hosting our neighborhood holiday party this weekend, but it’s potluck so all I really have to do is get the house ready. For me, that means evicting the wicked spider that’s trying to live by the kitchen sink, and putting fairy lights on everything that doesn’t move. We still have a tonne of improvements we want to make to our home, but it doesn’t look too bad under soft lighting!

We will be hanging with my folks for Christmas, but having a dinner party for New Year’s (and cooking the free turkey breast we got during Thanksgiving).

No hosting this year but planning on attending some parties here and there. Tip: I’m always impressed when I go to parties and the host/hostess can whip up my fav beverages. This past summer, I commited to memory making at least 10 popular cocktails from scratch. If you’re really good at it, you can put on a show that will have people oohhing and aahhing.

We will be going to both my and my man’s familys homes. I always bring a bottle of wine with me, because no host or hostess can say no to that! Except maybe Sherry because she can’t have any… boo! :)

I get to be hostess for the first time in our “new” home. I look forward to providing a happy, comfortable venue for the holiday gathering.

My FI and I just moved into our very first house last night so I don’t think we’ll have everything together in time to host any parties this holiday season. But I’m a much better party attendee than host any way.

We will do the visiting once again. We live out of town, but both sets of parents live in the same city – which means we will be shuttling back and forth. I like when I have neat house guests, especially ones who carry their toiletries back and forth – after spending so much time cleaning – its a bummer to see STUFF everywhere! I also like to bring a hostess gift.

I’ll be celebrating Chanakah at my parents’ house this year, but I plan on having a New Year’s party. My tips for being a great hostess is to make sure that the alcohol is easily accessible and that appetizers are easily passed around to encourage mingling!
