Just as Holly guessed during last week’s winner post, our latest giveaway is indeed from our friends at Z Gallerie. They’re back after their much loved freebie last May to put a little sparkle in your holiday season. While the big Zee-G has tons of glittery items for your house, your tree and even your dining table, we somehow managed to comb through all the eye candy and pick out a collection of our absolute favorite holiday items. So here’s what this week’s winner will be snagging:
The Z Gallerie holiday prize pack includes: two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses. We love them because not only do they provide a touch of holiday glam to a dining or console table, you can even get away with breaking them out during the other 11 months of the year. And if they look familiar it’s because Z Gallerie kindly sent a set our way (and we whipped them out for this Thanksgiving decor post a few weeks back).
So how do you get your hands on this sparkly set of holiday cheer? Here’s the 4-1-1:
- PRIZE: Two ribbed Antique Mercury Votive Cups, a silver Antique Mercury Hurricane and a set of four Puccini Hiball glasses from Z Gallerie
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “Z ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us if you plan to entertain people at your home this holiday season OR if you prefer to be entertained at someone else’s house. And either way, do you have any tips for being a great host and/or courteous guest?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 2nd at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: United States only
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

We usually do Christmas dinner at our house, which I LOVE doing, but this year we’ll have about a 3-week-old newborn, so I think it’s going to be at my parents’ place. :-)

We’ll be guests in two homes this year, so no entertianing for us. My only tip as a guest is to always show up with baked goods.

Z Me!! I love to play hostess! I just got married and we’re tight on cash–these would be perfect for our future soirees!

We party at Grandma’s house on Christmas Eve and then go to my parent’s house for a big breakfast Christmas morning. I’ll have to have friends over sometime though so I can show off my decorations. It just seems like a waste if my husband and I are the only ones who see them!

I love holiday entertaining and look forward to hosting my annual “cookie party” where everyone eats the christmas cookies that I bake, shares their own, and drinks lots of yummy warm beverages.

I prefer attending Christmas parties mainly because it means I don’t have to clean up after all the guests have left. I always try and bring something to the host/hostess to say thank you for hosting – items like wine, a Christmas ornament, a serving platter etc.

Z Me!!!! My husband and I are hosting Christmas dinner for our families in our new home! We are both excited and already planning the menu and decorations!

I will be doing the cooking for Christmas Eve. I am super excited as I plan to make some of my grandma’s recipes. Christmas Day we plan to kick back and relax and enjoy a quiet day together.

It will be just me and the husband for Christmas this year.
My tip for entertaining: keep a list of food and beverage ideas for entertaining throughout the year. I’m constantly trying a new cheese/olive/wine/recipe that would be perfect to serve at (or bring to) a party, but by the time I get around to planning, of course I’ve forgotten the brand or where I found it. So now I keep a list with my cookbooks.

We are celebrating Christmas Day at home with just our kids, for the first time ever! Looking forward to a relaxing day of present opening, game playing and goodie eating in our PJs! The next day we’ll hit up the big family celebrations and enjoy time with the grandparents and cousins.

I prefer to be entertained at other people’s homes so that I don’t have a messy house to clean up after everyone leaves haha. I think the most important tip to being a great host is make sure your guests are comfortable. It doesn’t matter how great the food is and how beautiful your home is if you don’t feel comfortable in your surroundings.

We would LOVE to be home this Christmas to enjoy our first Christmas in our new house. However, it is pretty much written in stone that we attend a gathering of my husband’s family 4 hours away.

I am hosting this year (16 adults and 8 kids) but its going to be a potluck brunch – my sis is handling the turkey; which will be gobbled gobbled on Christmas Eve instead! As for hosting, these are all my people and I love my people…they are very welcome.
Katie says
Z Me!! Once again I will be hosting my “White Christmas” Sing Along. Nothing like a little Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney to start the holiday season right! It’s a family tradition. :)

My sister-in-law and I split the holidays so that it doesn’t fall on the shoulders of just one person. I get Thanksgiving and she gets Christmas. I love to entertain, but sometimes it is nice to not have to worry about. :) I think the best thing a hostess can do is to have fun. If you are having fun everyone else, in turn, will have fun! :) Also, if someone offers to help…let them. Don’t try to do it all on your own (I personally struggle with this one! haha!). :)

Christmas is going to be at my sister’s house this year but New Year’s is at my house. My boyfriend just moved in this weekend and we are extremely excited about the upcoming holiday!
Being a little party planner myself, just a hobby, I think being a great host you should always have yummy snacks and a fire going (during this season) and just be a gracious host by bringing something like a bottle of wine, maybe a pie? =)

My fiance and I just bought a house this past March, and I decided it would be a great idea to host both of our families for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the Day after Christmas. Why I decided that would be a great idea to not just host Christmas during our first year in our house, but three days straight, I’m not so sure, because I’m now totally overwhelmed:) At least our dining room table would like nice if we have these fab decorations! Thank goodness my fiance cooks (my cooking consists of pouring cereal in a bowl). So my advice is – pass the cooking off to your significant other! My plan is to stand around in an apron looking like I’m doing something:)

(Hey, my nickname is Z.)
I am planning on doing Xmas at the future in-laws this year.
Last year I spent it home alone (ok, the cat was there) and I’d like something sparkly to look at this year to put me in a better mood.
(Love your blog, and congrats!!! Might as well mix everything into one comment.)

Z Me! I’d love to host the holiday festivities, but the extended family (everyone on BOTH side of the family) lives 4 hours away. We can’t seem to convince them to caravan to our house. . . .

I am hosting Christmas at my house the weekend before for my side of the family. My tip is to get everything done ahead time that you can so you can enjoy your company too!!! Your guest/family can relax if you are relaxed!

Z ME! We will be visiting a friend’s home…she’ll be away…so being good guests means leaving her place better than when we found it – clean linens and home, flowers, and chocolate :)

We love to have people over to our house – I think the key is just to remain stress-free about hosting and remember the whole point is for all to have fun and be together – not for you to spend the whole night in the kitchen!
