Random.org has surprised us this week and selected a male winner for the first time in foreverrrrrrr (shocking, we know). His name is… Thomas (and he’s looking forward to time off this holiday season). Congrats dude! (Congrats buddy? Congrats fella? I dunno, I’m so used to saying “Congrats ladies” I’m kinda at a loss).

One of our favorite things to give are custom house portraits (we’ve actually purchased two for my parents in the last year – and even bought one for ourselves). So as we enter the giving-est time of the year, we figured it would be fitting to give one of you the gift of a house portrait too. We recently discovered Rebekka Seale’s too-charming-for-words illustrations (Sherry’s ridiculously smitten), so wrangling her for a giveaway was at the top of our holiday to-do list. Happily, Rebekka was game. So she’s here to offer up a gift certificate for a custom house portrait along with the winner’s choice of any art print from her Etsy shop. Feel free to keep them for yourself, or wrap ’em up and put them under the tree for someone else. Note: Rebekka’s all full on house portrait orders until after Christmas, which is why she’s doling out a gift card for one, which can be redeemed after the holidays.

    I’m looking forward to the snow falling. There’s something about the snow, the christmas tree, the candles and a cozy blanket that makes me love winter and have everyone shoot me looks for asking for snow! :)

    SEALE ME! I’m most looking forward to giving gifts that I found at our local fair-trade shop. I had never set foot in the store before, but decided I was going to try to do at least 50% of my holiday shopping at local small businesses. And I found SO MANY awesome gifts, just by walking our streets downtown. I found so many small businesses that I plan to continue supporting in the future. :)

    This holiday season is a fun one since it is my son’s first! My husband and I are donating $200 to St. Jude’s in our family’s names. This was our money goes to a great cause, we don’t need to deal with retailers and we don’t have to worry about giving someone a gift they hate.

    As far as Christmas goes, I am looking forward to it being the first christmas that my 17 month old will be able to actually enjoy :) and family time! and lights! and holiday baking!

    The gift I’m most looking forward to giving is a painted portrait of our 16 year old dog who we both know doesn’t have many more holidays left to celebrate. My best friend is doing an ink/water color portrait of him and it’ll be a surprise for the fur-daddy. I have a feeling a few tears may be shed over this priceless gift.
