An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!
With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME!
I think the biggest change would be something closer to work for me. But with where we are at, and the community we live, I don’t think we could get any closer to my job and be able to have all the perks that we do.
Danielle G says
Walk-in Closet and an island in the kitchen that people can sit at. I love the idea of being able to have people sit in the kitchen with you as you prepare a meal!
Megan says
HOMES ME!
A short commute, whether that means taking the metro or driving to work. I’ve been spoiled with a short commute the last couple of years and I’m never going back!

HOMES ME, Homie!! (Sorry, just had to!!)
If I were to buy a new place, I would have a larger dining area. I can only sit 3 in my cute little area now and I like to throw dinner parties, so we always end up on the floor in the living room. Still super cozy, but a table would be awesome!!
Danielle says
“HOMES ME!”
A second full bathroom on the same floor as the bedrooms!
Justine V. says
With my better half and I both starting new jobs in a different city (doubling our commute time), I’d kill to have a place closer to work!

HOMES ME!
We just moved into a new house and after 10 months of looking, we found one that met most of our criteria: walkable neighborhood, larger kitchen and living room, 3 bedrooms, 1.5+ baths. We’re really happy and are looking forward to updating the 1950s kitchen in the spring (fingers crossed!). In the meantime, we’re plenty busy updating everything else (1960s wallpaper and wall-to-wall carpeting, I’m looking at you!).
Laura says
HOMES ME!
I live in Manhattan and I love my neighborhood, so I’d only be willing to move if I could find a place of comparable size in the same area…but with a terrace. I’d kill for a little outdoor space where I could drink my morning coffee in the sun.
Becky says
HOMES ME!
our next house must have a giant kitchen (for me) and lots of land (for my husband)…he wants a tractor
lisa says
Homes me!
If I were to buy a house again today, I’d want one with central aid (or the ability to install without having to put in all of the duct work – curse you 1920’s house!).
Kyla says
HOMES ME! A studio for making music!
Jill says
Homes Me!
Another bathroom…ohhh, the luxury! We currently have just one, and I don’t usually mind, but in the middle of the night, I’d kill for not having to walk downstairs, through the living room, around the corner, through the playroom, and finally into the bathroom.
Heather / It's So Suburban says
HOMES ME! Walls I can paint without scaffolding.

Renae says
Homes Me!
Tip top of my list would be a separate garage for my husband to work on his car projects. I currently have all I could ever want in my current home. But zoning and other ridiculousness prevents us from building a proper shop for him. Thanks Youngsters!
Andrea says
Homes me! Would love our next house to have a nice front porch to chat with all the neighbors!
Molly says
Homes me!! I would love to have some outdoor space…my current loft/apt doesn’t even have a balcony or patio!
Elizabeth says
HOMES ME! I would love hardwood floors, fireplace, big family and living rooms, and a big backyard with room for a garden and tree house.
Jessica says
Homes me!
We are actually house hunting right now, and it’s INSANE (in part because we are house hunting from far away). What I would love is to pick out a home and then be able to move it to where I want it for free. Like, if I find a nice house and it’s in the wrong city, just move that sucker!
Kelly says
“HOMES ME” Please
As much as I love my apartment, I would be grateful for my own washer/dryer and some type of private outdoor space- yard, terrace, balcony
Jenny A. says
Homes me! Two bathrooms instead of one.
Joy S. says
HOMES ME!
I currently have a one-bedroom condo and my next home would need to have a lot of windows with natural light and of course, a guest room would be a huge step up.
