Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME! although I love my “project house” I would love less structural projects so I could focus on fun decorative projects. Also, I’d like a garage

A new home would have to have a room just for me, where I could spread out all my craftiness and work on projects at my leisure.

Umm… I really like my current home. If we moved, I think I would like white cabinets in my kitchen (which I know I could do with my existing kitchen too, so no need to move really. :))

I want a cozy study corner. In the middle of exams right now, and I need a space with a door I can look to escape roommates, huge windows to make the room bright, and I would fill it with bean bag chairs next to a giant, clean desk!

HOMES ME! We are currently searching for a new home, so the one item on our must-have is a nice big open kitchen/living room. We love to entertain to its important there is plenty of space in the kitchen b/c that is where everyone always ends up hanging out!

It would be nice to have an actual “master” bedroom, complete with attached bathroom. I’d also stake out whatever street we were moving to and see how fast people drive on it. Our street is 25 MPH, but connects to a ton of houses/neighborhoods, and people FLY down it. Drive me crazy!!

Shannon, I laughed out loud reading this as I immediately went back in time to when we had a laundry in the basement (and exterior only entry to make it worse) and those dang spider crickets freaked me out everytime I went down there!

I’m fairly certain it was regular gang of them, all waiting to jump out at me as soon as I walked down the stairs…

Definitely would have to go with 2 bathrooms. Living with 1 bathroom and having people stay at your house can get old really fast. Especially when your bathroom is the size of a closet.
