An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!
With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME!
An attached garage!
Kristi says
HOMES ME! We just bought a home last year, but much later down the road I would like a LARGE kitchen and a formal dining room =)
Emily B says
HOMES ME! Our current house is perfect, except it doesn’t have a basement (large, rocky lot). I very much miss that extra space for storage!
Cat says
Homes me! I love my current home, but it’s super tiny!
Michelle says
HOMES ME!
I would love a bigger kitchen with more counter space.
April says
HOMES ME!
More square footage!
Katie says
HOMES ME!! I would make sure I have a fenced in backyard so I can get a puppy!!
Amber R says
Homes me! I would love a nice front porch.
Meg says
HOMES ME!
I would definitely need more storage space and a playroom.

HOMES ME!”
A fireplace is a must in my next house.
Kristen says
Homes Me! My “must-have” is a large kitchen with an island.
Michelle says
HOMES ME!
I’m in a 1-bedroom apartment that my boyfriend and I are quickly outgrowing. More square footage would be a must! Oh, and somewhere that I can finally get a puppy!
Danielle M. says
HOMES ME!!
If I were to buy a new home today my “must have” would be a big yard and a driveway!
Kelly says
HOMES ME!
I am living in a group house still but I’m really hoping to have an ensuite bathroom that I can decorate just how I want in my next place.
Beth says
Homes Me!
Where to start? I’d love to have more storage (I have a condo, so no basement, garage or attic here!), a coat closet and somewhere to store a vacuum.
Ana says
Homes Me! I would look for something with ample storage space. Love my little house but its definitely lacking in storage space.
Laura says
HOMES ME!
I rent in the suburbs now, but grew up in a rural area and I miss the space. If I could have one thing in a house it would be acreage and lots of it. I miss it!
deb says
HOMES ME! A gas range…
Tiffany says
HOMES ME! My must have would definitely be location. We live in a condo now, and love how close we are to Metro, and that we can walk to local shops and restaurants. Though buying home means we will need to get out a little further from the city due to budget, a big priority will be the location, and hopefully have a great walkability feature- whether it’s parks, shops, schools, restaurants, public transit, or, in an ideal world, ALL those things!
Lauren says
HOMES ME! A big closet, definitely!
Karen says
HOMES ME!A fenced in yard for our dog would be #1. Also central air conditioning!
Graham L says
Homes me
A man cave would be great.
Caroline says
HOMES ME! A second bathroom would be at the top of the list for us!
Adrianne D says
HOMES ME!
Top on my list would be a functional kitchen! Older homes are great, but our 1991 kitchen in our 1931 home stinks!
Erin says
HOMES ME!!! Top of my list would be three bedrooms on one floor. We live in a very charming 1950’s 1 1/2 story currently, and the second floor is the master bedroom with a sitting room off of it that currently acts as our nursery. No doors in between. So, we’ve been sharing a bedroom with our 15 month old since day 1 – makes it a little difficult to get on with the making of a second child. :)
Jessica M says
“HOMES ME!” Please :)
We just bought a house in June, but if I were to change anything, it would be adding a third bathroom into the mix. Preferably one with a jetted tub, since our master only has a shower.
Lauren says
HOMES ME! A good yard, and a quiet neighborhood!!
Emma (Broke Ass Home) says
HOMES ME.
We love our home (since we just bought it) but I really wish we had more than a 1 car garage. In Lansing it is hard to find, but I wish we had more room for things like…oh….the lawnmower ;)
Julie Lohman says
HOMES ME!!! A house on a lake with some acreage.
Vidya says
HOMES ME!!
A smaller yard, mudroom, pool, a bigger master bedroom and an extra bedroom!
Kim Kent says
HOMES ME!
High ceilings, dedicated laundry room and an actual foyer area!
Sarah says
“Homes Me”
We have only been in our house for 6 months, so we are still pretty much in love with it, but if I could make one change, I would have a little less front yard and a little more back yard.
M.J. Robidoux says
HOMES ME!!
I would choose a house that already has hard woods put in, and a fireplace with a mantel. And a large kitchen with island or peninsula.
mary says
HOMES ME! I would love a waterview.
Cindi says
HOMES ME! Lots of storage – closets, garage, attic, basement. You can never have too much room for storage!
Tara says
HOMES ME!
I would have to say for me, it’s location, location, location! I want to be able to walk to places, like the bank, the grocery store, ect. Plus a parking spot so I can park my car. And a balcony or back yard so I have some outdoor space.
Man, my list is long! ;)
Maggie G says
HOMES ME! We just moved, so I’m thinking the NEXT house won’t be for at least 20 years. But, my next home needs a ginormous mud room. I get so envious of all the mud room pins I see, and I have a teeny combined mud room/laundry room!
Lindsay says
HOMES ME!
A master bathroom! Ahhh… that will be the day!
Erin says
HOMES ME!
I’d love a new home which has windows in the kitchen and a large laundry room.
Jane Bumgarner says
HOMES ME! I live in a rental property with my husband right now and if I were to buy a house today, then I want, need, have to have, more than one bathroom! It is the little things in life, like not having to put away every single product we use every time guests come over.
Amanda S says
Homes me!
A new home would have 2 full baths and a larger family room.
Alecia says
Homes Me!
We just moved this spring and the one thing I miss, is a nice big shady tree in the yard.
Kate says
HOMES ME!
I really love our old, small house, but I sure wish it had more closets! The 2 teeny tiny ones we have just aren’t cutting it!
Lianne S. says
Homes me!!
We like our 1856 house, but do wish it was bigger and had a finished basement!
Lindsey S says
HOMES ME!!!
I would need a Mid Century Modern with more sqft! Ive always been obsessed with MCM’s (seriously, since I was like..6 or 7) and our house is so tiny right now, that we’ve outgrown it in only 3 years!
Jessica says
HOMES ME!
This sounds silly, but I’d love to have a grocery store along the route of my commute home from work. It wouldn’t be such a hassle to get that last-minute ingredient if the store was on the way home!
