Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

“Wear Me” – I’m decoratively challenged – not sure anything in my closet doubles as a decor item…haha!

My boyfriend likes to leave his clothes everywhere… He would definitely claim that he did it for decoration if it got him out of trouble.

WEAR ME! I have a great sun dress that would look amazing as throw pillows in my guest room.

I just got this cool little jewelery organizer that is supposed to hang in the closet off of the clothes rod, but I didn’t have room for it in there so I hung it on the wall. It looks pretty with all the jewels showing through the pockets!

WEAR ME! These are just beautiful. I love their homemade, personal feel and would love to give a few away as gift to bridesmaids for my upcoming April wedding.
I’m not sure my laundry counts as home decor(!), but it might as well be on a lazy Sunday when there’s work to be done and piles of warm, colorful clothing decorate my couch. It feels like home.

Wear Me,
I have my tiara from when I competed in pageants on display in our sitting room.

When we moved into our first home, the first thing my DH and I bought was a tall coat stand for the foyer. We don’t use the front door, so it stood there empty for a good few months before I had a “creative” moment and pulled a bunch of seasonally coloured sweaters and scarves and threw them on the coat stand on a whim. About three seconds later I LOVED it! They’re there all the time now, we just switch the sweaters out with the seasons!

That’s such a funny question, because just yesterday I bought a green tote bag with a white geometric-ish design on it at Target that totally reminded me of you YHLers. It seemed like something you guys would have on a throw pillow (I think the pattern was similar to your master bedspread, actually). It was so cute! I was going to link to it, but it looks like they don’t have it online…but you should check out the purse section in the store for sure!

I’m one of those anal closet people so the organization in my closet would be used for home decor. I’m the type to hang everything facing a certain way, color coordinated, etc.

I purchased a beautiful Pashmina scarf while visiting family up North during the Holidays. It’s no longer scarf wearing season here in GA but I love the colors and pattern in the scarf so much that I refused to put it away, instead I am using it as a table runner and I absolutely LOVE it!…everyone is surprised to find out that it wasn’t intended to be home decor :D
Beylah says
WEAR ME! I’ve been known to have a wall of colorful (and color-coordinated) scarves hung up on different hooks. I’d snag them to wrap around my neck, in my hair, or even tied to a purse from time to time. I’ve also made pillows out of an old dress from junior high that I just couldn’t 100% part with. :)

I took an old picture frame and repainted it, stapled a screen inside, and now I hang all of my earrings on it. It’s right next to my dresser and I’ve had a number of friends ask me to make them one because it looks neat and it keeps all of the jewelry organized.

Well, we have a big pile of shoes next to the front door. Not sure I’d call it “decor”…but it’s always there. Oh and my mom gave me a chocolate velvet dress that looks hideous ON me, but it’ll make some luxe pillows.

I have a pair of orange cowboy boots that I love to leave on the floor next to our entry table. I have orange accents all over the open entry/dining/living area and enjoy the punch of color on the floor level. Plus they’re my favorite shoes… why hide them in the closet?!
Katie says

I think y’all’s post on those gorgeous earrings were actually my introduction to Lisa’s amazing designs.
In our house, it’s all about the fabulous hats. I take any excuse (or none at all) to buy a new chapeau. A couple of my favorites are on display, including the lovely vintage ivory one, teeming with feathers, that I wore for my bridal shower in a beautiful old Southern hotel. Bought the dress to match the hat–was that fabulous.
Brandi says
Wear me!! I have a favorite dress, the most beautiful shades of blue, green and turquoise, like the ocean. If I could, I would use it for decoration…I already use it for inspiration.
Allison K says
