Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

i made our christmas stockings out of a couple of snowflake-patterned sweaters–that way they’re one-of-a-kind and still go together, and it’ll be easy to pick up another sweater and make a new stocking when we find our family growing.

my closet doubles as a small studio to house my growing collection of French loves…it fits an old jadeite (greenish) farmtable w/ a fire-engine red pull handle, an old cream bookcase, some Paris-themed hat boxes, magazines +my eiffel tower collections that I’ve made + bought, an eiffel tower clock, paintings etc… when i open the doors it takes me to a place that i can just get lost and je le rêve de Paris (i dream of Paris…) thanks for hosting such a sweet giveaway…best of luck to all!

I like using home decor fabrics to make handbags and purses because they are more durable as well as generally easier to take care of and bolder with print and color.

“WEAR ME”!! Hmmm…let’s see. I have this favorite wool scarf (that is long enough to drape over and around my neck 2x!) that doubles as a throw on my sofa. It’s absolutely beautiful. I picked it up in London on a trip with my family. And the price tag was even better! It was a “rare” find at a little thrift store-ish type of boutique and only cost me $15!! It looks perfect on my sofa!! And I’ve received so many compliments on it over the last couple of years…no one is ever the wiser that it’s actually a scarf! :)

Wear me… we have a fleece blanket lining our bedroom curtains because it seems to help keep the heat in/cold out. It’s not terribly pretty, but it works!

WEAR ME!! I have something from a different closet…not my clothes closet…displayed in my house. I snagged an Orla Kiely tablecloth on Clearance at Target a while back and ended up stretching it across two large canvases. It is now displayed in the entryway of our home.

Lets see, in my closet I recently selected a pink dress that I have not worn in years to recover a lamp shade from a lamp I purchased from a local thrift shop in my daughters room. It turned out great and the total cost for the project was only $1.99!!! Gotta love cheap!

My small collection of large rings are in a pretty ceramic bowl from Anthropologie that makes it look like (what I feel anyway)a visually-pleasing home decor element in the room.
I still remember the ceramic egg carton idea from this blog and saw a tiffany blue one that I am purchasing next time I am there!

I’ve turned sweaters into pillow covers and embellishments for kids’ clothes on numerous occasions. And using scarves is a great way to bring pattern/color into a room.

I have an amazing pair of shoes that I have never worn but look beautiful as props! They are pewter Dereon shoes sandal booties with a big flower on the ankle. But 4.5″ heels are just way too much height for my already-tall-at-5’10” frame.
