Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I have a sarong that i bought in hawaii a number of years ago. When i don’t use it as a beach cover up, it makes a great table cloth! Also, my mom has used her old shoes as planters before (although she doesn’t wear them afterwards – because that would be kind of tricky!)
Love your blog! Thanks for the inspiration!

There’s not much in my closet that would look good as home decor :( but I sometimes sift through it when I’m sewing to find some kind of fabric inspiration.

WEAR ME! I bought a scarf in Brazil years ago, and recently pulled it out and draped it on a hook on the wall. The color is brilliant and I love it!

I don’t know that there’s anything in my closet that doubles as home decor…I knit a lot, though, and always have hand knit hats lying around, and pretty balls of yarn stashed in baskets around the house.

WEAR ME!! And, to answer your bonus question, I’m feeling very sad right now because I can’t think of anything in my closet that’s really cute enough to use as home decor. My new polka dot spring scarf from Target might look good hanging by the door though…

I have this shell lei that I got from my most recent trip to the Philippines. It hangs on the knob of my husband’s closet, which is in the second bedroom. We just repainted the room i beautiful aqua and the shells have aqua beads surrounding it. So hanging it against his white closet helps to blend in the room so well!

What in my closet could double as home decor? My colorful necklaces hung on a piece of crown molding. I get necklaces from lots of countries and love to display them creatively because they look so great! Too bad no one gets to see them. :(

I have a funky octopus necklace that I’d love to enlarge the silver pendant and put on a shelf or desk or something. And scarves….don’t even get me started on scarves…

Wear Me! Well I have something in my closet that doubles as both. I like to keep my closet open for people to see it. It is this exquisite jewelry box that was hand carved in Africa of the Sahara. It has this Hollywood red carpet lining that I like to peep through by leaving some of the drawers slightly open. I worked at an antique store when I was 17 and I would not have been able to afford it, but the owner let me work it off. It was so worth it!

WEAR ME! I recently got inspired and made my jewelry a focal point in my bedroom hanging it on the wall.

WEAR ME! My jewelry doubles as my home decor. All of my necklaces are hung on the wall beside my dresser, making it easy to keep them visible and untangled while providing a colorful wall display.

WEAR ME!! I often like using colorful scarfs as table runners. I also like re-purposing old clothing (or shrunken clothing!) to make something fun and new. I recently made a laptop sleeve out of my husbands sweater…that I shrunk! You can check it out on my blog: everydayoriginals.com.

I have a huge scarf collection and I use them around our place all the time. Sometimes I just place them on a hook or on a chair or sofa for a burst of colour. I also use them to tie my curtains and some of my extra long scarves have even doubled as table runners a few times.

My mother-in-law made each of her children and herself a pillow out of her wedding dress and had it embroidered with our names and wedding dates. It’s a lovely reminder of our wedding date and my husband’s family.

Wow, Lisa is very generous!
A few years ago, I bought these fabulous shoes from Target. They’re brown herringbone with a little brown button on them. They’re SO cute, I always get compliments on them ~ even from boys! {And we know from Legally Blonde that boys rarely pay attention to shoes} Since buying them, I’ve been on the hunt for all things herringbone. I recently found a large 24×24″ pillow {from Target, of course} that is the exact same pattern of the shoes! I put the pillow in our living room, and now I can enjoy the fun pattern all day long :)
