Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

WEAR ME!!!!
I take a long road trip every summer usually like two or three weeks and i go all over the place. To avoid spending money on useless knick knacks for souvenirs i pick up some local jewelry or accessory ( south dakota – black hills gold necklace, texas- huge foam hat) and i display these things in my dorm room for all of my friends to see when they come over, and usually i hang a framed postcard of the place i picked up the piece from near by it on the way. Its great especially since i live in a college dorm i don’t have a lot of space, and i have minimal inexpensive ways to decorate so this kills a few birds with one stone so to speak. Great to display, helps me remember my travels, don’t have to store away my accessories, and my room gets decorated. I love that every piece has a story behind it!

WEAR ME! I would love my odd mismatched earrings to double as wine glass charms when we have friends and family over.

I had these awesome brocade print pants (that did not fit after baby as they did before baby) – that I turned into cool curtains in our old house. We sold the house in the fall and the new owners wanted those curtains as part of the offer…those were some rockin’ pants!

Do the socks that my dog, Cooper, steals out of the laundry basket and leaves lying around the house count as home decor? Yeah, I don’t think so either! Good thing he is cute! Thanks for the giveaway!

I bought this dress from Charlotte Russe with the most beautiful pattern on clearance for $7 and after a while, grew out of it. *sigh* I used the fabric from the dress to turn into a pillow!

I am a t-shirt and jeans type person, so this is a tough one, but maybe with a little ambition I could turn some of those t-shirts into a fun memory quilt. :)

Okay, so this is my second ‘old t-shirt’ post, but…. We made a small quilt out of old t-shirts. We use it as a throw over the chair in Lilly’s nursery.

I think that I would have to choose some of the crazy 1960’s clothing patterns and make a canvas/painting/collage of them and hang it on a wall in my bedroom. That way I will not regret trowing them out but they wont be taking up closet space.

I love the idea of using scarves as make-shift window treatments, especially in a small space with strict rules like a college dorm or an apartment.

Wear me! I use silver jewelry in a bubbled green glass bowl as a decoration in my bathroom during the summer sometimes, something about the bright silver and the pale green are just right for our beachy bathroom theme.

I have quite a few statement necklace pieces that I’ve purchased from different countries I’ve been to and I used to hang them out of the way in my closet. Then, one day I put up some pretty hooks in my office and hung one necklace on each hook and put my favorite picture from that particular trip right above the hook. I absolutely love looking at that wall all the time! Plus, I can easily pick out which necklace I want to wear for the day!

I’m by far not the most daring fashionista out there (and the fact that I just called myself a fashionista is truly a crime against the love of clothes), but I am very proud of one item in particular in my closet-my bright red peacoat. It’s slightly daring, vintage, and classic; if I could make my home echo that same feel, I’d be one happy lady.

Um… well, all of our paintings and photos are currently in the closet. But they actually ARE decor, so I’m not sure that counts. My toddler thinks clothes are toys, so we frequently have random clothing spread throughout the house. Neat decor, huh?
Mary Jo says
WEAR ME…I have a jewelry tree form Ikea that sits on my dresser. My necklaces and bracelets look better hanging from it than jumbled in a drawer! :)
