Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

WEAR ME!
I bought a lovely turquoise and white patterned sweater this weekend that would be pretty anywhere in the house. Maybe when it’s worn out (which hopefully won’t happen for a while), I can make it into curtain ties or a pillow or something.

WEAR ME… Hmm, now that i have a 4 yr old and an almost-2 yr old, my concept of home decor has changed quite a bit. Do brightly colored foam alphabet mats and piles of blocks count as decor?

I love to use scarfs and hair ribbons from my closet to spice up my bedroom – sometimes I use the ribbons to tie the curtains or I’ll add a scarf to a dresser for a little spice :)

I feel like my necklaces are a piece of art, any chance I get I hang them from our dresser, the medicine cabinet, even the rearview mirror in my car.

I display my jewelry as a decorative piece in our bedroom….it’s easy to do with a frame, a little fabric and decorative push pins. The best part: you can switch out the fabric to suit your mood or change up your decor!

I LOVE these. And look at the site quite often. I plan to buy a necklace for some new moms real soon.
As for my decorating/apparel story. Back when my sister and I shared clothes and made everything we made some fabulous w-i-d-e legged pants, then used the leftover fabric for a wallhanging. It was a hunk of fabric that you just didn’t want to cut into. you know? But the graphic design of birch trees fit our “limbs” just right and looked terrific as an oversized poster of sorts.
We both swear we saw someone sporting those pants in a news story about retro clothing shops here in St. Louis.

Somethings that would normally be in a closet or garage that we use as home decor are our snowboards and our bicycles. We have our snowboards hanging on one wall in the living room and then we have our bikes on two different stands in the living room and foyer. :-) They make great conversation starters.

I love old trunks as furniture! I think they are both beautiful and practical and they add a sense of history to a room, even thought the only trip our current trunk made was from the local pottery barn store to our living room! :)
