Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

That is a funny question, when I think about it I love both clothing and home decor but I do not mix them like you were talking about. I mean the most I have done is used a scarf as a small table covering.

I’ve never mixed and matched, although I love both my clothes and my house. Maybe it’s time to start?

We have a bunch of hats on display in our house, not that we wear them very often lol! But they were once worn by a family member. At least one hat in our collection was worn by my father in law on his wedding day.
Joan says
WEAR ME!!! I usually have a few colorful scarves hanging by the front door.

I have the most amazing satin shirt, and I love the cream and navy colors. The pattern is almost like a chain-link. I would love my bedding to have the same colors and theme! Maybe someday when I learn to sew!
Mandy says
WEAR ME!!! Unfortunately for me, I don’t think I have that ability to fashion my clothes into stylish home decor, although I wish I had an eye for it. Mostly, my clothes become an unsightly pile of obstacles we have to step over-that’s as creative as I get.

I have a corner shelf unit in my closet and I displayed my perfume bottle collection on one of the upper shelves. It keeps it safe from my toddler and I love looking at it in the morning while I get dressed.

well, honestly i don’t have a decor/clothing convergence at the moment, but i think the scarf-as-pop-of-color idea is terrific. it means you’re able to leave things out without it really counting as clutter! how clever ;-)

Love that key charm.
I have a love relationship with all things accessory. Scarves, purses, jewelry, you name it! I don’t usually display them though. I was thinking of making something to display my necklaces in our bedroom…

I love Lisa Leonard.
This isn’t exactly closet, but I use my jewelry as custom art. I removed the glass front from 3 shadow boxes and covered the back in red satin-y fabric. Then I installed 4 hooks at the top of each one. Now I hang my necklaces from the hooks, and can easily see them all. The shadow boxes are hung on my wall, above my dresser, and they look like some amazing, unique (wearable) art.

Oh yea i forgot to add, I use my my trays and serving dishes/platters as fragrance and jewelry holders. a set of bracelets works well for napkin rings. I also use my chunky beaded jewelry in hurricane vases for different themes or to hold faux flowers in place. =)

I have an Old Navy silk (faux, a.k.a. polyester) scarf that I would love to use as the inspiration for bedroom decor. The palette is brown, lime green, turquoise, and pink and the design is a fun floral-esque print. It makes me happy just looking at it.

I use my old clothes, pillows, etc to fill cute duvets that we use as dog beds. If I can’t use the old stuff anymore, at least my pets can! Best part, everything is washable and easy to put back together (unlike some dog beds we had before).

WEAR ME!!! Love her jewelry. If I knew how to sew I would turn my wedding veil into something for the home. It was one of my favorites things from our wedding and so expensive to only use for a few hours! Maybe someone else will use it one day.

It goes both ways in our house…I have a couple scarves that I wish were large enough to use as a table cloth and a blanket, respectively (the first is a light, airy cream pashmina and the other is a knitted blue scarf). But we also have a cozy green blanket that I think would make an awesome puffy coat!

I searched my house high and low, but I don’t have anything that doubles as fashion and house decor, unless you count my shoes that get kicked off by my desk everyday after work. I am going to have to get on this!

I never would have thought to use scarves as table decor until I saw a video – I think it was with you & Katie Bower – where you did a bunch of different tablescapes and used a scarf in one of them. Thanks for the great idea!
