Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.
I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).
And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:
- PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
- PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I took an empty frame, some radiator cover and tacked it in, and use hooks to display my larger & long necklaces and bracelets. The frame compliments the ones already in the bedroom, and the radiator cover was spraypainted to look good as well! It hangs on the wall near my closet door.

My hubby and I recently put up some shelves in our bedroom about chair rail height and down to house my collection of shoes. Not only do the shelves help keep my heels organized but also the white shelves against the chocolate walls and the different colors in the shoes add a little something to our pretty plain room.

i use a cute, fabric-covered bulletin board (gifted from target) as a way to display earrings and necklaces. the criss-crossed ribbons are great for hooking earrings and clasping necklaces. it’s been the perfect substitute for jewelry boxes that never have enough room!

My husband thinks his baseball hat collection should be the main art piece in our bedroom prominently displayed, but me thinks not. His hats are inside our walk-in closet above the door way, a spot only he can reach, so it’s perfect. I told him it makes the closet…manly!

Wear me! I display my jewelry on lucite racks above my dresser, and my purses/bags hang on a wall with little hooks =) The rest of my wardrobe tends to be ho-hum so these are the things that add pop to my outfits!

I wish my pashima was a bit wider so that I could make it a curtain for the spair bedroom. It has these beautiful warm colors and great texture that would look beautiful in there. I do not display my purses because I have too many… or just too small of a closet?! I don’t swag my scarf anywhere… sorry. I have a hair band that has peacock feather accents on a black velvet background. I really wish I could replicate it as a throw pillow. I just think it’s a lot of fun.

Lisa Leonard is one of my favourites! I love all her jewelry. At my house I have used some of my favourite teal-feathererd earrings to decorate the bathroom. They hang on a chocolate-brown paint chip that matches the brown racing stripe in the bathroom. I just cut off the lettering at the bottom and attached a satin ribbon at the top, and poked the earrings through the chip.

I have a couple of old vintage house dresses that I have been saving in order to turn them into chair covers for some “old” IKEA chairs whose fabric could really use a change! I think the mixed-matched ness of it will really go well in the end. Now I just need to get to it!

my sister has an idea that i have been dying to copy. in her small brooklyn bathroom, she has frames of vibrant fabric wrapped over corkboard. she then hangs all her jewelry on it from pins and even displays some floral hair clips and has them hanging on her walls. it is great for storage and makes her tiny bathroom look fancy!

I recently made a pareo for my fiance that doubles as home decor. It was the third pareo I’ve sewn and the first one he’s worn. Because we are such different sizes, his is much longer than mine and so I find different purposes for it. The fabric is black with red Chinese calligraphy and some gold Chinese symbols (I blush to say I forget what any of it means). It really matched our Chinese-themed dining room as a table cloth when it wasn’t being worn. It also served as a nice bed sheet. Most recently, I somehow managed to tie it as a fitted cover for his torn-up computer chair, making it snazzy with a hint of geekiness. I just hope I can remember how I tied it so I can get it off!

I have some handmade quilts from the mid 1800’s in my closet. I love seeing them. I am amazed at the history in each stitch, let alone the whole.
