And not only are they generously offering up this week’s sweet prize, Ikea’s also presenting “The Life Improvement Project” where they’ll award one philanthropic individual $100,000 to take a one year sabbatical to help others (start a non-profit, volunteer for a year, etc). Plus they’re hosting free seminars in their stores about improving your life through your living space.

If I had a year off and the money to do it, I would get a huge tract of land and open a haven for dogs (and probably cats too – I wouldn’t be able to resist, even though I’m a dog person). I have always had the dream of being the Cesar Milan of the East Coast and have a ranch of acres and acres where the dogs can run, be part of a pack, and have a home (with exercise, discipline, and affection, of course… :-D ) – that would be incredible.

If I was lucky to take one year off of school/work, I would most definitely focus on after school programs for children, of all ages. Education is the number one priority for our kids because sooner or later they will be putting us all in nursing homes and being the leaders for once. :)
