We were so pumped when Room & Board wrote to us about doing a giveaway. Their furniture and accessories are practically the epitome of the clean-lined, comfortable-yet-sophisticated, natural-material-ed (?) aesthetic that we love. And while there’s plenty to ogle over on their site, one of their Galbraith & Paul pendant lights is officially up for grabs. There are a wide variety of graphic pattern-happy designs, so follow this link to hunt down your favorite (and we completely understand if you get sidetracked by all of the pillows while you’re there).
Here are the deets:
- PRIZE: One Galbraith & Paul pendant (priced up to $449) from Room & Board
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M BOARD” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: … if you could pick any room in your house to magically be more illuminated and full of light, what space would that be? Your basement? A closet? A tiny half bathroom?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 13th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

I would love a new light for our nursery. We are in the beginning design stages for our baby due in February. Right now, the room has a ceiling fan from the 70s. He really needs something jazzier than that!!
Deborah Gosling says
I’m Board! I soooo want to win this one! I’d light up my living room and dining room — porches are great, but they do cut down the amount of light that gets in. Let in the light!
Amanda Smith says
I’M BOARD… I would pick my dining room because we live in a rental with this awful 1970’s chandelier thing, and you know just because we rent doesn’t mean we can’t have nice lighting!!
Nikki Kelly says

Linda says
I’M BOARD! Room and Board has been one of our favorites for years and their sales are fantastic. Room to light up – definitely the main 1/2 bath that has no window at all. It feels like a cave and something sure needs to change!
Abby says
I’M BOARD! And I’d love to light our dining room table.
Anna says
I’M BOARD!
Our bedroom needs a light fixture. It’s properly wired already, but our landlord never put one in. So we’re making do with two $6 IKEA floor lamps. Sigh.
Kate says
I’m Board! I would love to replace the dining room HIDEOUS wicker and fake wood ceiling fan in our house.
Kiersta says
I’m board and and I need some “boards” to cover my painted cement floors…I used the Valspar latex floor paint (oil would have been better but not good for a pregnant mama) and we didn’t wait long enough for it to cure. We were in a rush to get moved in to our 1970s home before baby #4 joined our family :)
I would love some cool lighting for our family room. There is no overhead lighting in the main living areas of these older homes.
Lori says
I’M BOARD…
I’d love a new fixture for my guest room!
Mary says
I’m board!
It would definitely be our dining area. It’s kinda like an eat-in kitchen but there are absolutely NO lights above the table area. AND I’m a big fan of seeing what I’m eating…at least most days.
Julie says
I’m BOARD!
I have a coat closet under the stairs that is in desperate need of additional light. Every time I want to grab something out of the back of the closet, I don my hard hat and headlamp. It’s just one step away from spelunking.
Love these pendant lamps btw!
Rose says

We have a giant living room with few outlets and no overheard lighting.
Renee Grone says
I’M BOARD! I actually just fixed the lighting issue for my home office. It’s in a dark corner of the basement so I installed wall cabinets with under mount lights above the desks. Loving all the light and especially the extra storage! But I’m sure I could find another dark spot for that pendant!
Danielle says
I’M BOARD!
When I bought my townhome I inherited one of those very dated chandeliers with glass panels. I’ve updated everything in my dining room/kitchen but that nasty chandelier! A new pendant would be perfect!!
julie m says
I’m BOARD…I’m crazy about light…so I would vote EVERYWHERE! But I definitely wish my kitchen had more windows and natural light. I also wish my living room was brighter!
Nikol says
I’m BOARD! I have been looking at these very same light shades for our dining room. I need to add more light and visual style to our very plain dining room. One of these I am sure would be the trick.
Heather says

Definitely my foyer! My current fixture is on it’s last leg.
