Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

BLIND ME!!
Our master bedroom has 2 windows, 1 faces our neighbors house. We can’t have a high fence so I never feel comfortable opening the blinds or window (and it’s window season on the gulf coast!) This would allow us to finally open that lovely window!!!

we are getting a new home soon…yikes….and diy blinds are gonna run rampant – we’ll need to cover up everything!
Dorothy says
BLIND ME! We just moved into a new house and the first windows we had to cover were those in our back room b/c they show the path from the bathroom to the bedroom and the neighbors had a crew putting on an addition to their house just outside those windows!
John says
BLIND ME. Blinds for our half-bath are on the list.
Paige G says
BLIND ME! Our spare room/office has the most awful dark green curtains and the mechanism for opening and closing them is broken! Not friendly for guests at all!
Marissa T. says
“Blind Me”! I’d love to add blinds to our family room windowns. The neighbor’s dogs bark everytime they see us move.
Hilary says
BLIND ME! The house we are in the process of buying has a dining room window facing the neighbors and it would be nice to cover that view while eating dinner!

Eek!! I would love this!! I don’t currently have an unsightly view, but in college, my neighbor was also the naked guy and his favorite past time was walking around naked and then playing the tuba…naked.
Brittany says
Blind me! The cheapy blinds that are in our bedroom for sure.
Jordan says
BLIND ME!
Man oh man, we have been aching for blinds in nearly every room since we moved in (2 years ago). And the neighbors would probably appreciate not seeing me wander around in my undies anymore :)

We loved the fact that our new house has big–long–windows… However, have you ever tried to buy window treatments for 7 foot wide windows? How about 9 foot? Yeah, were not that rich. Currently our baby has two old sheets blocking the beautiful views of the mountains. It would be lovely to get window coverings that actually worked.
christina says
BLIND ME! Our kitchen has sliding doors and a window if either of our neighbors are outside they can look into our house.. not very private!
Amber says
BLIND ME! Both of our apartments in Boston had windows in the shower. Why would you do that? It’s cold, it’s hard to keep the windows and sills clean (especially if they’re wood and you have to also keep them dry) and your neighbors can see your unmentionables!

BLIND ME! we live in a row townhouse that looks directly out to the neighbors living room so i’d like to block that! :) this would be great for us though as we’ve lived in our home for 3 years and are still using the cheap temporary blinds you get at lowe’s :) we are in need!!

We cover the 24hrs of day light in the summer so we can sleep. It would be really nice to have pretty blinds to do it:~)

Our back yard leaves something to be desired, so new blinds would be much more forgiving for our eyes!

We have FOUR windows in our garage that face the street. They are currently covered with redi-shades – yuck! New blinds would up my curb appeal, plus keep our (messy) garage private.
Catherine says
BLIND ME! I’d love to use them for the guest room I’m making over at my parents’ house because A. 2/3 windows look directly into the neighbors’ house and B. one of the windows is this funny sized mini-thing, that’s never been covered correctly. I’d love to use the custom shades to fix that issue!

BLIND ME!
Two neighbors’ houses look right into my bathroom and it took me about 2 weeks to realize it after I bought my house. What a way to introduce yourself to the neighbors!
Stef says
Blind Me! Our bedroom curtains are very function over form right now- ugly black-out shades that keep the street light out so we can sleep. We could definitly use an upgrade :)
Rose says
BLIND ME! We bought our first house almost a year ago and every single window had vertical blinds. There are still several up, even though I can’t stand them, and I would love to replace them!

Our whole house is in need! Our neighbors can see almost every room in our house minus the master bedroom where we have sheets that cover the windows! The neighbors always joke about not having to pay for cable since they can see our TV hehe

BLIND ME!!
The designers of our home back in the 80’s, decided that it would be nice to take a nice relaxing bath while looking out our front yard and into the street. It’s such a nuisance because I like letting the light in, but I hate walking in before I take a shower and accidentally undressing before realizing the window is still not covered! Bathrooms + open windows is not a good design!!
Jennifer says
BLIND ME!
We really need window coverings on the windows of our (newly re-done) den. The room is street level and you can see right in at night which kind of freaks us out. Needless to say, we haven’t been spending much time down there to watch TV, but now that the colder weather is coming and we will be spending lots of quality time with our couch, we really need to stop dragging our feet! The timing of this post in uncanny! :-)

oh my goodness. BLIND ME! i am a grad student at SCAD in Savannah and live in an old victorian with, count them! TWENTY TWO windows! I’m doing my best to sew roman shades for all of them but I can only move so fast in between work and school. This would be a life saver :D
Emily says
Blind me! My bedroom windows are in need as they look out onto a parking lot!

My kitchen window looks directly into my neighbor’s workout room. While I appreciate their willingness to really break a sweat and get in shape, I don’t want to have to look at it while washing baby bottles every night!

It is time to replace the grandma shades in our family room! The rose patterned shades just don’t match our decor!
Plus, they’ve been open/closed so many times they are just plain worn out!
Thanks!

BLIND ME!!!
I have coverings on my kitchen windows but they are in need of an update. It has a great view but kids complain of the sun in there face in the morning while they are trying to eat so it needs a good covering.
Sara says
Blind me! The window for our future nursery looks directly at the side of the neighbor’s house! I’d love some pretty roman blinds to cover up that not-so-great view and provide shade from the sun for a sleepy baby!
Marcie says
BLIND ME! We have a sliding door in our living room that could definitely use some coverage :)
Katie Weber says
BLIND ME! I would love to replace the blinds in my toddlers room. They are broken and crooked and look terrible from the outside. Fortunately for now the broken parts are covered by a piece of furniture on the inside so you can’t see inside.

Blind Me! I would LOVE to cover both of our kitchen windows, which overlook our neighbor’s driveway . . . basically an alleyway used for parking. Would love to hide this view from sight, especially at night.
