Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

I’d like to cover the windows in my bedroom. I’m tired of turning off all the lights when I want to change my clothes, even though it’s likely all the neighbors have already seen me naked…ugh.

The powder room on my main floor has a window that looks out the front of my house, with a nice view of the parking lot. When I first moved in, the blinds were broken so anyone parking their car could look right in! I have a cheap-o curtain on there now but some functioning blinds would be wonderful :)

We have a little 1 year old who is not a fan of napping when he can see any light and I’d love to help him out with blinds!
Our worst view was when we lived in a condo, and all our neighbors were elderly and retired, and very very nosy..
Sara says
BLIND ME! We have a glass front door and you can see straight into our family room, i wish i could pull down some blinds or a shade at night so we can sit in there and not feel like we are being watched!
Juli D. says
BLIND ME! Our front blinds that came with the house have been dying for months. They are still there (kind of) but I need to replace them so the neighbors can’t watch TV with us through our windows.
Brian says
BLIND ME! I don’t need my neighbors being able to see into my beautiful sunroom this winter when the neighborhood skating rink is in operation. The view out there is usually a deer meadow, but not during “hockey season”

Growing up my bedroom was in the basement (1/2 above ground) and my window faced the driveway and was at the perfect level for any car that drove up to see right in with their headlights. I have never loved blinds more!

We have this half-circle window in our bedroom that is uncovered and I end up waking early even on the weekends as the light shined into the room. Help! :o)

I need blinds for almost every room in the house. The worst has to be when I’m working in the sunroom at night with all the lights on and no blinds to keep wondering eyes out. It freaks me out a bit.

We recently bought a condo from a 93 year old woman. The complex walkway is right outside our kitchen window, and apparently the woman who lived here before us liked to hang out by the window and greet the neighbors as they walked by. Now, when we have the blinds open, the neighbors (out of habit, most likely) look into our kitchen…!
Margaret says
BLIND ME! We have been in our new house for 3 months and we still don’t have any curtains in the front of the house. At night people driving by can totally see inside. My husband insists that no one can really see us, it’s pretty funny actually.

I’m glad we covered our bedroom window in room-darkening curtains so the neighbors porch light doesn’t come into our room in the middle of the night!

We have blinds to cover our view of the street from our living room (and the street’s view into our home!). Unfortunately, our dog doesn’t care for the blinds and constantly sticks his head THROUGH them to see what’s going on out front!
Sassy says
BLIND ME! The corner windows in our bathroom that overlook the road and neighbors — finally covered but taking showers in the guest room for the first few weeks in the house was annoying.
We did have a friend, however, who was one of the first to move into condos under construction. One day he looked up as he left for work to discover that the one way/mirrored “they can’t see in” window in their shower was apparently defective or misinstalled. He rushed up to get his wife covered up and then they covered the window with tin foil under the contractor could get back in to fix it. I like blinds: you know they are working.

Oh man this is a sweet giveaway!
I recently purchased my 64Rancher with two big lovely windowns in the kitchen however the lady next to me who owns the mirror image of it doesnt have any window coverings on her big lovely windows! YIKES!!! I work hard to keep my dishes clean and keep my counter free of clutter, but she isnt holding up her end of the bargain, so that had to change! I bought pulldown cellular blinds and love them, now I need them in the rest of the house!! :)
PS, love your blog and congrats on the impending changes!

My wife and I have been putting faux wood blinds in our house, slowly but surely we are finishing, but this would be an amazing help to finish that project, those things can get pricey and our house has a lot of windows!

One of the first things we did in our new home was remove the nearly 30 year-old blinds. Now all of our neighbors can look right into our bedroom. I’ve figured out where I can dress without anyone seeing me but it’s a very dark corner of the room. I need some blinds!

– Living in the land of the midnight sun makes it necessary to have light blocking blinds on the bedroom windows. I’ve been in my house for nearly a year now and those babies still aren’t covered!!

Our only window (and it’s a large, double window) looks out onto our neighbors’ side yard. They’ve been doing quite a bit of work to their back yard, which means that they’ve put an old rusty swingset in the aforementioned side yard. But it’s not just sitting there; It’s half on the roof of the garage (which is low to the ground at that spot) and half on the ground, leaning in a precarious (and ugly) fashion. Every time I look out the window, I’m bummed that it’s still there (and it’s been there for a good three months or so now). Oh how I’d love a way to cover that view while still letting in a bit of light…

Our picture window gives us an amazing view of the mountains, but at night, it allows every passerby to see everything we are doing inside! This would really allow us to live in our living room!

I would share the gift certificate to my best friend since the man in her life works nights and the daylight streaming through the current blinds is bothersome.

luckily our next door neighbors just bought a shade for their bathroom, but soon after we moved in we were hanging out outside with some friends and looked up to see their son (highschool) sitting in the bathroom doing his business and listening to us (window opened, elbow up on the window sill listening and watching us). another time we saw him in there also going to the bathroom, brushing his teeth etc…guess he didn’t realize when it’s dark outside it’s even easier to see inside your nicely lit bathroom!

Our neighbors house is seperated only by the driveway we share. We feel like our dining room is on display and that we might as well invite them in for dinner some nights. We love the neighbors, but would prefer they not know what we eat for dinner nightly.
