Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:
This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).
Here are the giveaway deets:
- PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
- BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!
Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

I just made-over our master bedroom and some nice new wooden blinds would be the perfect finishing touch!
Kristin says
BLIND ME
Front door – don’t want people peeping in!
Cassi says
Blind me! I’m tired of the neighbors’ floodlight invading the darkness of my bedroom!
Rachel says
“BLIND ME!”
In a pinch we had to use our bedroom as a puppy cadge. Not surprisingly we came home to a mess and our roman blinds torn to shreds. I would love have something luxurious instead of blinds looking like they came out of a horror movie.
Christine says
BLIND ME – my one window looks out onto my neighbors garbage can!
Alison F. says
Blind Me! The one thing I don’t like about our house is that our master is in the front, so we feel like we have to have the window covered all the time…not ideal for ANY natural light in the room!
Caro says
BLIND ME! . . . but not really that sounds painful.
I’m thankful that most of the views out our windoes are of trees, but I’d love to cover the master bathroom window. With some determination and a pair of binoculars, you can definitly see into it from the road!
Jessica E says
Blind Me! Or rather, blind my neighbors as their kitchen sink window looks right in on my bathroom!
Jessica K. says
BLIND ME!!
Oh my goodness, this is just what we need for our new home!!
Living in an end unit townhouse, all our views are of our neighbors, so we just need some privacy!
Elyse says
BLIND ME!
would love to cover the view through the window above our kitchen sink… great view of the side of the neighbors’ house :( but i still want lots of light coming in.
Krithiga says
BLIND ME!
So need blinds for the house. Hope to win this one.
Ellie says
BLIND ME! We have a gigantic window in our greatroom that used to overlook the woods. Unfortunately, time marched on and our subdivision grew. Now, we have a great view of our new neighbors’ house… and they have a great view into ours.
Jami Urban says
Blind Me! I have been using your Blog as a inspiration to a old house that my Boyfriend has. He bought this before we were together and we moved in it a year ago and have been doing renovations since. Thanks to your ideas I found some great white wood blinds on craiglist for a great price, unfortunately there were not enough for the whole house so our bedroom has been left without blinds or window covers. Recently the power company took down all our bushes and trees and the neighbors can see in our house, I need blinds bad :)
Thanks for everything!
Jami

I don’t have a view I would like to cover, but I do have blinds that need to be replaced. They were put up by the previous owners of our home and they are Velcroed (sp?) to the track of our door. They are constantly falling down and driving us nuts!
Kate says
Blind Me! My living room is in need!
Sarah says
Blind me! I’d gift it to my parents who are buying their very first home – a cute little ranch fixer-upper! I’m so proud of them and looking forward to the transformations in store! They’re planning on updating a beautiful picture window in the living room and some great new blinds would hit the spot! :)

The newly painted bathrooms could definitely use some new window coverings.

I’d love to put some bamboo shades on our sliding glass door in the Family Room! We already have white curtains, but when that sun shines it is BRIGHT in that room!
Corie says
Blind me! We live in a pretty rural area so our views mostly consist of the woods – not too bad but not too pretty either!
Christine says
Blind Me. My husband works nights and our bedroom is in major need of some new treatments.

Lisa says
BLIND ME! We have a bay type widow in our kitchen where our table is. We have no blinds or curtains there, because I haven’t wanted to part with the money. I hate eating at the table or being in the kitchen at night because everyone can see in. I feel like we are in a human fishbowl!
Amy S says
BLIND ME! We added a family room on to our house over a year ago, and we still have no blinds… yikes!

blind me!!!!! no kidding- my whole house is in need of blinds!
Lisa says
BLIND ME! We definitely need some window treatments for our kitchen window. The setting sun literally “blinds me” every evening.
Stacey says
BLIND ME!
We just moved and all of our windows are naked- so we need blinds everywhere! My priorities are the bathroom window (to block the neighbors’ view), and my office window in front, near the group of high school students waiting for the bus.
Amber S says
BLIND ME!
Our bedroom has two large windows – one looks onto a neighbor’s front door and through the other we see another neighbors big ol truck. I haven’t tackled our bedroom yet and it still has the lace curtains and metal blinds left there from the previous old lady owner. I’ve been dreaming of shutters to match the rest of the house and allow us to have the top ones open and let light in, while leaving the bottom closed for privacy.
Jenny Mehlow says
Blind me, please! Our bedroom window, on my side of the bed, looks onto a covered patio. Which would be nice, except that it has become the tool shed. So, every morning, I wake up and try to ignore the wheelbarrow, the lawnmower and bicycles hung from the ceiling.
Anna says
BLIND ME!
Back in college, my dorm room window faced… the psychiatric hospital. Some nights, the patients (I assume) decided to flash lights into the dorm windows. That’s when I wished I had better blinds…
Sarah says
Blind me!
Our 2 kitchen windows could use some new treatment
Amber says
“BLIND ME”
I would love to hide the view on my on my kitchen door window. I still have curtains taped up (yes I said taped) because I just can’t find anything that I like or fits properly.
Katie says
BLIND ME!
Im glad I got blinds for our third bedroom (aka the man room) because my husband’s closet is in front of the window and he likes to get dressed there. So I guess my blocking is more for the neighbors benefit!
LIZ says
BLIND ME!!!!
We really need blinds on our back door… our neighbors are known to walk their dogs behind our house (another issue)… and it creeps me out to see them at night!

Heather J says
BLIND ME!!!
Both of our bathrooms have a view on our neighbors side door…definitely not something we would like to share!
Katie says
BLIND ME! Once upon a time, when we were young, we moved into our first house. Not having much money or many skills, our decorating scheme evolved around the choices that came with the home…mainly the burgandy floral kitchen wallpaper and the forest green metal blinds. That’s right…FOREST GREEN! It’s been 12 years now and I’m still looking at those same blinds. Please help me save the green for the view out my windows, not the blinds that cover them!
LesleyG says
What the heck! Blind me! :)

BLIND ME!
My views out of the window aren’t bad but the view of the the yellowed vertical blinds the dog chewed in our master bedroom leave much to be desired.
